You've read, either in E-ON, or a Dev Blog, on how EVE TV is returning with a weekly news show. Seeing as so much goes into planning and creating the production, I wanted to share with you a bit of insight into what we're up to and where we're at. Think of this as a mini Dev Blog or diary, but for EVE TV rather than EVE itself. We'll update it from time to time, hopefully every few days, so keep checking back.
PART 1 - Look & Feel
At the moment we're working on how to format the entire show so that its catchy, part of this involves coming up with the graphics and transitions that will bind the whole thing together. We've been working with a couple of guys who've been helping with E-ON (John Auger who works on the Testflight images for the mag has been amazing), making sure we get that broadcast feel - all the while making sure that the show looks distinct and will have the content that you guys want to see.
A big issue on that front is going to be our channels of communication with you guys, to make sure we can be in game when the news is breaking, as well as following up on the big stories via interviews. Once we have the info (which is no small task), we then have to set about scripting, storyboarding, doing visuals, voice-overs and sound design - and this is all still way before we've pieced things together.
Setting up the studio is a big concern at the moment. We were kinda on a wing and a prayer back in Iceland for the PvP Championships, but now we've got to step up a higher gear. Again it all comes down to aesthetics - not just what equipment needs to be used, but how we're going to light the studio. How EVE-y would we like it? Should we have a complete roleplay-style station with spiral sporting dreadlocks and covered in war paint? How about having the lovely lady co-host in a low low low-cut perspex dress with her head shaved down the center in a purple double mohawk? (Actually, perhaps we don't have the wardrobe budget for such couture, so scratch that.)
Click here for an early sketch of the set.
It's all very exciting and just a little bit scary. It's going to be hard work pulling everything together to get the first show out in June, but I'm sure we'll make it. I may feel different in a week.

I really can't emphasize this enough. Please do not have intrusive in-game prompt windows asking people to connect to EvETV. It was extrremely inconvenient during the tournament and cost me a ship. If travel warnings can appear in the same log as damage messages, so can EvE TV messages.
You can save on the whole studio thing by broadcasting directly in game. Spiral can anchor from inside a Reaper

ok, i hate these prompt windows and i hate the fact some people thing they are there for advertising. these are for server issues only and i'm doing my best to start getting everyone thinking like that. there would have been more last time if i hadn't have screamed like a little girl.
now back to the topic. there is a final meeting about the event on monday morning, exact times and dates will be sorted then and posted early as possible in the week. also the change to signup i hope.

Actually, I was picking on Zapatero, took him like 2 minutes to spot it and call me "cheeky git" too.

Why do you need to do anything about the set now? Just shoot against green and put the set in later using CGI... Babylon5-style :)
Maybe (in terms of production design and formatting) it would help to clarify to yourselves what you are trying to acheive. I.e. are media people producing a "tv" programme about EVE that is targetted at the denizens of internet gaming, or are a band of media-savvy capsuleers transmitting a bulletin on capsuleer-related news for other capsuleers throughout New Eden?
