So I have some decent skills at this point (8+m) and I have been toying around with BS's for a few weeks. I have access to most T2 gear, but not quite up to T2 large turrets yet. So bearing that in mind I have been running an Apoc setup like this:
High's 8x Mega modulated pulse energy beam w/xray (balance range v damage)
Med: 2 cap recharger II's Optical tracking computer codebreaker/drone nav/AB/random as needed
Low: 1600mm LARII 2 T2 specific hardners 1 EANM II (or another hardner) 2 spots with HSII's or Tracking Enhancer II's
Rigs: 2x CCC
Drones: Hammerheads
This allows me to run everything almost non-stop (cap need: 53 regen: 49) but I dont do much in the way of damage. I *DO NOT* want to fit a cap injector since that puts me at the mercy of the size of my cargo hold, and some missions are longer than my cargo hold is big. So what recomendations do people have about getting my damage up while still having a solid tank. Raw I am outputting about 400DPS with 2 HSII's according to quickfit but I cant hit frigates or cruisers for damn. Equipping TEII's in place of the HSII's drops my damage down to about 300DPS raw, but I hit about 85% on cruisers.
It seems like it takes forever to actually run a lvl 3, 4's are insanely long.
An abaddon gets me up to 520DPS (with the same setup) but I can only run everything for about 2 and a half minutes before I die (again I refuse to use a cap injector for PVE).
A geddon gets me 475DPS, but I run short of a full fitting (cpu and I have electronics 5 and WU 5) and the cap is pathetic.
So what is the best "speed" running lvl 3/4 amarrian battleship ? I would guess apoc, but it seems to take a long time to chew through anything other than bloods (which dont come along very often).

Try something like this with an Abaddon (copying & pasting your setup with a few adjustments):
High's 8x Mega modulated pulse energy beam
Med: 3 cap recharger II's 1 AB / tracking computer / cap recharger II
Low: 2x LARII 2 T2 specific hardners 1 EANM II 2 beta cap relay
Rigs: 3x CCC
Drones: Hammerheads
Should be sustainable, or close to it... not sure what your cap / controlled burst skill is like. A couple of suggestions regarding your original setup: I wouldn't use plates or tracking enhancers. If you want tracking, swap a cap recharger for a tracking computer, and then swap in a cap relay where you would have put an enhancer. Tracking computer + cap relay > tracking enhancer + cap recharger. And plates are more of a PvP thing... I'd go with a relay/hardener/heatsink in its place.

With that setup on an abaddon with a HSII instead of the EANM, I get 480DPS and can sustain the entire thing for about 5 minutes with gamma. xray drops me to 446DPS and I can sustain it all for 8+ minutes. If I add controlled bursts 5 and energy systems operations 5 (both are 4+ currently) I can sustain it with any T1 crystal and with MF I get 520DPS.

Anybody think they can do better ?

You could also swap a LAR II for a MAR II for the short term... that will help with the cap issues, and will be enough tank for most missions.

Edited by: Kintai mangi on 19/05/2007 05:13:06 Tach's dont do well against cruisers or even some BC's they are the torps of the turret world. Plus with that setup when you run out of cap boosts .... lose. Correct me if I'm wrong but do you have a shield boost listed on an amarr ship ? How odd.
An AB on a battleship wont do much since most rats can still keep you far enough out that you dont gain much by using it, plus with tach's you already have silly range for missions.

I can run lvl 4's and i have less than 2 mil SP with this setup and its runs fine. I have not tried lvl 4 Blockade though.

I use this on lvl 4's
His 8 x t2 Mega Pulse
Mids 1 x t2 Tracking Comp 3 x t2 Cap Rechargers
Lows 1 x t2 Large Armour Rep 3 x t2 Active Hardeners 1 x t2 EANM 1 x t2 Damage Control 1 x t2 Heat Sink
Rigs 3 x ccc rigs
Drones 5 x t2 light 5 x t2 med
Hardeners For Blood/Sansha I use (90/61/63/91) 2 x Active Therm 1 x Active Em
For Merc's/Drones etc (84/84/85/87) I remove the t2 hs and add an extra t2 eanm 1 x Active Therm 1 x Active Kinetic 1 x Active Explosive
Never worked out the dps on this but it kills bs pretty good and can tank well

I just moved to an Abaddon for level 4's. Here is my setup so far, it is not the most uber but does enough dmg and I do not need to watch my cap.
High's 8x Dual Modulated Heavy Energy Beams (Multifrequency)
Med's 4x Cap Rechargers II
Low's Large Armor Repairer II Medium Armor Repairer II 4x Rat Specific Hardners Mark I Generator: Capacitor Power Relay
Rigs: 2x CCC
Drone's: 7x Hammerheads II
As is I have no problem tanking level 4 missions. Once I have enough parts to make another CCC, I'll be dropping the CPR for a Heat Sink. Change to a different crystal for better range and still do more damage. At that point I do not think there is much more tweaking I need for Sansha/Blood missions.
