I know the must have been a million posts about this but i've seen no changes to fighters at all.
I'm sick of how ******** they are. They dont do what you tell them or they take forever to respond and when you tell them to come back you loose half on route because the "pilots" are rolling a joint or something.
Either make them effective and responsive or reduce the required minerals to build them. I dont see why they take the minerals of like a HAC and get blown up easier than a frig. _______________________________

The cost to build them is ludicrou when you compare tehm to a tech 2 heavy drone, which aint that much less damage. And if they nerf remote deployment.....

Fighters are possibly the most ignorant type of drone in eve, you can almost hear them telling you where to get off when you order them to return to the carrier.

With remote deployment going away, fighters will need serious loving. The size, slow speed, cost and lack of responsiveness make them less attractive than drones. Anyone who has done in-grid fighting with a carrier knows that once your fighters are in trouble, its impossible to recall them in a timely fashion, and they die anyway on the way back. In fact the only way to save them in that scenario is to assign them to someone off grid and then recall them. ----

I'd have to agree: I only use fighters to assign them: when fighting in the actual fight i find other drones much better. (Atleast they do something instead of just buzzing around like an idiot)

So their making it so you cant assign fighters anymore? I didnt know that. Why the hell do they keep nerfing carriers? And now they have stelth bomber that can wipe out all the fighters + the carrier in no time at all. All that training for nothing... _______________________________

1. from what i know they are not removeing remote deployment of fighters. as what be the whole point of the carrier. Now they did talk about it. but even in the dev blog they got a big "MAYBE" remove that system,
on too fighters being dum. o ya i seen them fly up too a target and orbit it for nearly 5 mins before they even started too open fire, they cost a lot too build. and i seen Tech 2 orges from a domi hit harder then a wave of fighters.

i agree :) drones generaly cant follow orders longer then a 30km trip :) they simply forget and turn around :)
mwd on when u attack :) mwd off when u run :) (this is realy bad with web drones)

Ok well im getting more and more fed up with fighters that I've just give them an early retirement and made them "walk the plank". I'm now going to be using Heavy's and Sentry drones from now on as I'm not loosing another 20mil piece of ****.
I mean get this... you launch say 10 fighters... they instantly come out of the carrier at approx 5-6k from your carrier and start orbating randomly. As you stay still tell them to return to the carrier and watch for the next 5 minutes as they slowly approach the carrier... thats just a big fat joke...
CCP, please take note of these problems and work on Fighter AI. I mean you've got all the other drones pretty much clued up... why are fighters so "special" that they dont have to listen to their master? _______________________________

All drones need a major improvement.
Anymore i have to carry a few extra bms around in case i need to call my drones back i must eject a jet can and tell them to gank it. (which is bad in a fight b/c of lag, and because the hostiles now have a warp in point on you).
Also there is the thing where anyone can warp off + cloak. And the fighters will just sit there and get pounded (not even defend themselves, and you can see their health remotely which should be fixed).

New to carriers and gotta say that fighters' damage output vs survivability = silly.
If they can die easily, they should be doing more damage... If they do the damage they do currently, they should stay alive longer...
As it is, nearly every other carrier pilot is telling me to use Ogre 2's instead.

While you're at it, sentry drones appearing at just over 1,500m from my carrier is not amusing. I find the best/only way to clear them off is to smartbomb them and launch fresh ones, even if I launched them while moving at 0.0 m/s and haven't moved an inch since. While it's an amusing way to solve the problem, it seems a bit... obtuse?
Edit: Oh, and *PLEASE* modify the drones UI to use the same three-section structure/armor/shield bar as the fleet UI uses. The amount of screen real estate devoted to monitoring ten drones, let alone twenty or more from a mothership, is patently ridiculous.

Do drones even need health bars? Unless they are light drones or you are right on-top of your target you're never going to recall them in-time to save them anyways. faster just to let them die an launch a new one.

You have clearly never flown a Myrmidon with heavies or anything with Fighters.

Aw so could you force them to follow given order ? Especialy on ogres because after traveling about 40km they just give up and pick on random target.
Also would be nice to order sentrys to shoot only upon order so they will stop pulling whole room with random shootin *.* --- I swear to god, ccp choose changes in game via lottery system. |

The warping bug was my fault. I even had a defect on it. The problem was that I was relying on proximity events to tell me when the controller of a fighter drone warped away, but if the drone was outside of the notification range already (for instance still returning to their controller) then there would never be an event. I just tested this and it appears to be fixed.
Oh Thank You, Thank You! Now, if I can just get the GMs to acknowledge that something bad happened to my drones, I'll feel much better. If you've got any pull with the Senior GMs to get them to answer my petition....::nudge, nudge::
Oh, and WOOT! My post was directly responded to by a GM! You are now my favorite!

Any chance to brighten up the AI a bit on normal drones as well?
Yesterday on SiSi I was messing about with a 4.8km/s Vaga and Warrior II drones. If I launched the drones and then started flying away they would never use the MWD to keep up (stuck doing 1km/s). Now if I hit return to drone bay they would fire up the MWD and pull a good 6km/s until they were 5km behind me where they just would slow down to match my speed. Regardless if I slowed down to 500m/s they also went down to 500m/s keeping the distance. When I decided to stop the ship completely the drones stopped as well, still 5km behind me.
So any chance the drones can be clever enough to actually go full speed until they have returned and not become lazy when they are 5km from the finish line? I know it is a bit much to ask but if they could engage the MWD when they are falling behind it would be awesome.

OMG am i seeing a mirrage, did something I post have an event on something... well pleased... for all of you... shame i lost my carrer last week though :(.
a) so do drones mwd back or only afterburn? b) any news on reducing mineral usage for creating fighters or higher resists would also be nice? or do you not have a say in this? c) can "fighter pilots" now graduate "fighter school" without a drug problem which leads to dissobediance (sp) during vital combat situations.

Fighters are NOT fix.
Still 20 million isk, useless peice of **** drones that don't do what they are told, and still don't MWD back. Took them 3 mins to come back to me from 30km away....
CCP PLEASE FIX FIGHTERS! And give them some loving <3 ______
