Man U fan here. Both teams were faitly poor for first 30mins tbh, was close for most of the rest. I think United had the edge more toward the end, but credit where it's due, that goal was pretty sweet.

Overpaid men kicking a ball between 3 sticks of wood is nothing to be happy about... all football brings is stupid fans that cause fights, overwork the allready stressed police who thanks to the fans with an IQ of less then 10 have to be there at every game now.
I hate football, not for what it is, for what the diehard fans have made it.
Althrough, congrats for winning.

Yeah even though I'm a liverpool supporter i'm putting a bet on the opposition as I'll be happy either way the match goes. I havent been too confident with our form for the last few matches at the end of the premiership, thats not a milan beating side right there and they are sure wanting revenge for 2 years ago + their team is at full strenght. Hope we win for the 6th time though... *cough* chealsea... beaten by us twice now in the champions league semi's... we're still by far the most successful british team in europe :) _______________________________

Amen. Rugby was the only sport I ever got into in High School. Believe it or not, while its not the most publicized of sports in US schools, there are quite a few of us over here.
I played US football in high school and managed to last about six months before the testosterone addled alpha male mindset that was used to motivate them turned me completely off to it.
Rugby was more enjoyable and a lot less ego driven, while still being utterly kick ass.

True, but last time i watched a "match" the players spent more time on the floor going "MUM HE TRIPPED ME UP" crying like a stupid punk kid then someone on truck loads of cash per match, but after the blind ref gives the free shot away he gets up and WOW that mofo is healed and tbfh they could use acting lessons.
How you can call football a sport it's beyond me.. it's like watching Daytime TV.

To be fair, I think Mourinho is one of the best things about the Premiership. If he left Chelsea, it would be a lot more boring.
Well done, Chelsea.

Football aka "soccer" is still the most popular sport on the planet, so billions of people, including me, must think its worth watching.
Why americans name their sports leagues things like the "world series" when its clearly only their nation that takes part is beyond me. _______________________________

To be fair, Canadians have been known to play in the World Series, and have kept the trophy north of the border for decent stretches. Should also be noted that the "National" Hockey League is something of a misnomer courtesy of the Canucks.
That, and the NBA nowadays is on average significantly paler due to a massive influx of European basketball players who are giving the bling-bling set a serious run for their money.

I would just like to add that that was the worst FA cup final I have ever seen. It's also the worst game I've seen this season, it may have even been worse than the way England played in the World Cup last summer. In short it was utterly bloody appaling.
Now I've come to expect dull, negative rubiish from Chelsea but Man U have on occasion played some nice attacking football this season. However they seem to have decided to play Chelski at their own game today. God I'm bitter about Premier League Football at the moment, bunch of overpaid, underworked idiots. If I'd payed for a ticket I'd demand my money back.
Roll on the Heineken Cup Final Methinks.

At no point in American Sports History did things like the MLB's World Series get put to vote to the American people. It was named by the governing body of American Baseball by pompous windbags with more money than sense.
However, in it's defense, there are a considerable number of non-American's playing baseball in the US. So it is more international now than ever...as the best players from around the world do play in the MLB.
Unless you are complaining about the "World Series of Poker"...poker is not a sport anyway.

Soryy but Real Madrid have won the European cup/ champions league 9 times. That makes them a bit more succesfull tham Liverpool.

For what was if you listen to the British press (not normaly a good idea) the best match in the world that match was truly inspid funny to see C.Ronaldo aka the new Pele/Mardonda/Eusabio has scored the grand total of 0 goals in 7 games against the big 3. --------

That was 1 of the most unmemorable F.A. cup finals I've ever seen.
It looked like 2 teams who were both winning 1-0 with a minute to go.I expected Chelsea to keep things tight and grind out a result but tbh Man Utd looked like they adopted the same tactics.
ú8.50 for a Burger and Chips is obscene btw

Heh, my thoughts exactly. Socialist football- everyone gets a prize!
From what I saw of it, I think Chelsea weren't undeserving. But it was so close (and so dull) that either side could have walked away with it without complaints.
Glad I didn't make an event of watching it though, most boring final ever. --------

Actually, the word football comes from medieval times. Alot of games were played back then on horseback, but when football was invented, they named it football not because they used their feet to kick the football around, but because it was played on the ground and they used their feet to run around. Or something.
Im pretty sure I read that somewhere or did a project on it. Oh well. ------------- yarr :( |
