Shameless Avenger	Posted - 2007.05.21 03:50:00 - [1] OK, back in the day, the best looting cuiser was the exequror due to it's big cargo bay. But now with the salvaging, I need more than 4 turrets. There is no gallente T1 cruiser with 6 turrets (yeah, I want six). I have to decide from one of these: 1) Maller - This also has 6 lows...good 2) Moa - 3) Rupture 4) Stabber Witch one would you pick? Or better yet, are you using one of those for looting/salvaging? If so, what you like about it? Thanks
Doma Asiv	Posted - 2007.05.21 03:58:00 - [2] Personnally, I use a Cormorant. 8 highs for tractors and salvagers. The single low gets an EC II. Mids are loaded with cap rechargers and an afterburner. I also added salvage rigs. The cargo capacity is plenty for lvl 3 missions, and then some. Besides, salvage is worth more than the crap loot you find nowadays. I would stay away from cruisers because the higher cargo capacity isn't worth the effectiveness of a full complement of tractors and salvagers.

Every level 4 gives at least one big gun that sells over 500k... on some ocasions I get a modal mega neutron blaster. Usually I make 2m or 3m in loot. The rest is melted to make ammo. But back to topic, I tried with a destroyer before and it just don't have enough cargo space. Missions like serpentis stravaganza can give you over 2k m3 in loot and salvage. Even more if you get a lot of scrapmetal from the salvage. The destroyer is not enough. To many warp outs just to unload. Thats why I'm using cruisers. Those salvaging rigs sound good though.

Krytie	Posted - 2007.05.21 04:59:00 - [5] I have found that my gallente destryoer needs to make about 2 trips for a bis level 4... so, I am actually making the trips now and will then use the cargohold expander IIs in the lows and once I get the parts, I will be adding the Cargo optimizers rigs as well. I salvage after I kill everything, so no need to care for armor on this looting and salvaging ship.

Kery Nysell Caldari Nysell Incorporated	Posted - 2007.05.21 18:24:00 - [15] I tried various destroyers for my lvl 4 looting/salvaging needs ... and I quicly went back to my trusty Exeqror, the cargohold is what did it (1741m¦ with Gal Cruiser 4 and 3 Expanded Cargohold IIs). 2 tractors + 2 salvagers, Salvaging 4 and 3 Salvage Tackle rigs = 70% chance of cleaning the wreck on the first try (I very rarely need more than one cycle to salvage a wreck, and at the worst it takes 3 cycles), no real need for more high slots ... I have trouble keeping pace with my targeting of the wrecks already ...

He has no problems with space with EC fittings plus he was cheep to build out. 2 tractors and 6 salvagers make quick work. He also has an AB for teh boot to over 330k/s for the large distances he needs to travel. The only mission, lvl 3, that even comes close are the drone missions wirth all the minerals they drop. I jet any metal salvage I get if it becomes a space issue.

A stabber is fast enough, has 6 turrets, and some lows, it works fine for me. New ship class
