is there anyway to give the item storage in the station the ability to make sub folders (like with groups for drones) would make it much easier to sort and find things that way. |

Containers. What you're looking for is Containers. Probably Station Containers specifically.
Alternatively, filters. Lower left of the Inventory window, the little bar across the left that says "My Filters". |

Containers don't allow you to sell from them. I know, I've Tried. nor can you use Anything within a container for crafting or research. it has to be in the main hangar.

Alternatively allow us to do things with items from containers, like buying/selling, reprocessing and multi-fit (so much the latter please). I like using containers to sort things but they are lacking in features.

Then either use Filters or use containers for organization and move stuff in and out as you need to use it for stuff. The base code that governs Station storage doesn't support what you're looking for here and rewriting that would be a major undertaking. |
