Nope, that's pretty standard. As with many MMO's there are always *******s trying to make a buck the easy way. I see it everywhere, and my only guess is that people accidentally buy stuff from the top of the list when they are in a hurry. Usually these people actually go out of their way to make the price at least look similar to normal prices, but just with extra 000 at the end.

This is true, however, it doesn't work.
When someone buys that billion isk shuttle, the billion isk does not go to the seller of that scamshuttle, but to the seller of the cheapest shuttle. So unless these scammers also hold the cheapest shuttles, they'll never get anything for this. ~Soi ______________________________

This one really annoyed me, so I went round the places that there was multi million ISK Iterons and put a few up for sale at the cheapest price.
I sold a few Iterons and hopefully ****ed off a scammer.

When selling a overpriced shuttle, the bogus seller is not guarenteed the isk, rather the isk goes to the cheapest seller on the same station.
E.G Scammer places Amarr shuttle at 100mil Normal dude places Amarr shuttle at 8k at the same station
Buyer buys shuttle at 100mil. The isk goes into the normal dude's wallet and not the scammers wallet.
Try it, find a station with overpriced shuttles and sell shuttles at cost. You will be cheaper than anyone else and get the megabucks when someone falls for someone else's scam. --

Hmm, so if you intentionally do this, and keep the money, you are, imho, no different from the "scammer".

Is this also the case when you buy something specifically from a sellorder? For example if you hate people who underbid by 0.00...001 isk and rather pay that much more to buy it from someone who doesn't or know the seller and get a refund if you buy from him.

Im not sure what you mean. But if you are describing....
Player 1 Sells Raven for 100mil Player 2 sells Raven At same station for 99,999,999 isk
Buyer buys a raven for 100mil. The 100mil goes to player 2 and players 2's raven gets taken off the market. The market will always give you the cheapist item from the same station, even if you pay more.
On the transaction logs, Player 2 will notice that he gets 100mil isk as well insted of 99,999,999 isk, so he has benifited from player 1's higher sell order.
Remember - it only happen at the same station. --

Meh, you mean people don't order their sell list from cheapest to expensive?
Can't choose the wrong one if you start from the top (cheapest around) and then slowly scroll down till you find one that's in the station. All these real expensive shuttles will always be at the bottom of the list so you can't choose one by accident.

u/f people cant come up with a decent scam so they just do this crap that they learnt in wow to try and get more ISK. Doesnt work very often though, it actually costs people maore than it makes them in some cases, but most dont realise that.

Here's a wonderous, magical tip: Click on the 'Price' title when viewing the market and it will sort everything you look at by price (ascending or descending). Make it so it sorts ascending. From then on, unless you're a complete tard, you'll never accidentally buy overpriced or scam items from the top of the list.
Then again you'd have to be a complete tard to buy overpriced/scam items even without doing a price sort. All it takes is one eye open. You don't even have to use both.

No. Same example. However, I know player 1 and he gives me a 10 mil refund if I buy ships from him. Or I just feel like paying more. Whatever. So I rightclick-buy item on his sellorder directly to buy from that specific sellorder and are not using the generic "buy item" button. AFAIK you buy then the item from the sellorder you specified and not another one.
Also, using the normal "buy item" button gives me always the price of the cheapest offer anyway so I do not see how it would be possible to get the price for a scammers offer there. That could only happen if the buyer changes the price listed there, but why he would do that escapes me.

Ok I understand what you mean. In a list of 20 buy orders, you want to buy one from your friend. In that case, even if you manually right click the one your friend set, it will default to buying from the cheapist seller. --

Wrong Aramendel, even if you choose offer 1 for 100 mil, you will buy raven 2 and give the isk to player 2.
It was done to avoid isk exchange between trial accounts and normal accounts, and to reduce isk selling.
