It seems that at approximately 5:00 GMT, a huge blaze ripped through the site of the British Tea Clipper the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, London.
Damage to the ship looks to be fairly extreme, although no detailed assessment has been made at this time. Let's keep our fingers crossed for her.

I've been on that ship. I don't really understand why anyone would want to set it on fire really, it's not like it's doing any harm

*Greenwich resident waves*
Big fire, badly damaged, most of the internals had been removed (and thus preserved) as the ship was undergoing refurbishmnet.
The foot tunnel, most roads and rail lines within 1KM including DLR Cutty Sark are closed.
I had a long and smelly walk to work.

Why would a Scottish-built British Imperial Asian tea clipper be in San Fransisco?! --------

Rich San Francisco-based American shells out enough cash for ship. Owners - practically corrupted by the sight of an insane amount of cash agree. Ship then sent to SF. Depressingly possible.
Back on topic... What a kick in the face.
