Is it possible changing the name of a character? (paying)
For example if i nuy another char, can i change its name?

Nope.
I've submitted this idea to CCP several times but they either thought it was a bad idea or haven't got to implementing it yet.
If only you and dead people know hex, how many people know hex? |

CCP has said no, you will never be able to change your name. The response for this was located somewhere in their post/blog about pay portrait change. They gave the reasons that it must be the same sex and sub-type of race. So a Male Gallente Gallente must only have a face of a new Male Gallente Gallente. Because the name, sex, and img of your character are "unique" to who you are. And to change who you are was then allowing people who had RL money to do whatever they wanted.
Basically, if you pay to change your name, you could just change your name whenever you wanted and have this new "identity" all the time.

If they allowed name changes then scamming would skyrocket. That is the short answer.

Also, in EVE reputation is everything. A name change, even with an easily accessed listing of changes, could be used to hide previous bad behavior.

I really don't understand why they don't let us change a chars' name once. I mean, really, it it that hard to put "Formerly known as XXXXX" under someones' name just above where corp titles normally go in show info? (And you could only do this once, so no long lists of like 100 names for scammer chars.)

Changing a name on purchase should be doable......unless I buy my own character and then start scamming all over again, with the new name.

Why you can't change your name at least once is beyond me. Some people don't realise how big the game is or like to test before hand so they may be stuck with a silly name, like me
