No, it wouldn't.
Try again, and this time with "missions", "ratting", "low-sec ratting", "tackling", "pvp damage dealer", or "popping shuttles in Jita", or "pod popping", or anything FFS.
Asking how to fit your cormorant with no idea of what you're fitting for is asking for a **** poor setup and doom.
OTOH, you're flying a cormorant, you're asking for a **** poor setup and doom anyway.

It would also be useful to know what range you want to operate at.

Personally, I found that the Cormorant is a fast way to die, no matter how it's fitted.
OTOH, it does make a great salvage ship.
It doesn't have the speed to speed tank, and it doesn't have the cap to shield tank, and no armor, and only one low slot.
Makes a great target though.
Not a ship you should fly alone in - and hopefully, if you're in a group, people don't pick you out as the easy killmail. ------------------

Highs: 7 125mm rails
Meds: 1x Afterburner 1 Med shield extender 2 Invuln field (named if you can) Shield recharger
Lows: Micro aux power core
Its not a really long range setup, but it lets you have some tank too, and should be cap stable unless you run the AB all the time. Use named/T2 where you can.

For missions?
Kestrel -> Caracal -> Drake -> Raven.
Accept no substitutes.

For shuttle/pod popping, I really prefer:
7 150mm rail, rocket [if it fits] 3 sensor booster 2, 1 warp scram mapc

For level 1 missions? Yes. For level 2 missions? No. Use a Caracal.

Here's the Cormorant setup I used; it blows through level 1 missions without much worry. The range on the guns is fairly limited (with my low skills, my firing range on the rails was between 3km and 9km), but for your typical level 1 mission rats it works fine. The blasters really help out for the 10% of rats that like to get really close.
The guns were fairly expensive, but I like having solid guns. I went for the smaller caliber for their tracking speed and firing rate (good for clearing large swaths of weak frigates).
High: 5x 75mm prototype gauss gun (rail) loaded with Antimatter S 2x blaster 1x rocket launcher or salvager
Med: 1x Med shield extender 1x Afterburner 1x EM shield amplifier 1x Thermal shield amplifier
Low: 1x Small armor rep

Destroyers should be greatly buffed so they are the total bane of all frigate class vessels yet still owned by cruisers.

Nice setup, but a Micro Auxilary Power Core instead of the RCU would be MUCH better ...
A T2 RCU gives a 15% increase to the PG of the ship, for a Cormorant that's 8.25 PG units (before the Engineering skill bonus is applied) ... a MAPC gives a flat +10 to the PG of the ship, before the Engineering skill is applied.

A friend of mine has been going:
5x Light blasters, 3x small nos AB, scram, tracking disruptor, invuln field 2x Overdrives
For PvP. He's killed a few friggies, so I guess it works decently!

Cormorant has only 1 low slot, so I'm sure its only 1 OD. What's he kill with it? I've considered something like that.

7x 125mm small SB, 2x cap recharge, AB damage mod
rips through lvl 1 missions.
even with most of my gunnery skills at lvl 1 ^^

High - 6x 150mm Compressed Coils w/Tungsten rounds. Med - 1MN AB I, Med Regolith Extender, Rat Specific Hardener Low - RCU I
Never lost that ship through L1 or L2. Worlds Collide required running sniper fights, warping out, then coming back, but always took something down each trip, and never once saw armor damage.
I've since toyed around with a T2 Railgun fitted Cormorant, but could only get five of them loaded with its PG.
This is my sig, there are many others just like it. With me, my sig is worthless. Without (or with even) my sig, I am worthless... |

As I said higher in this thread, DON'T use a RCU on anything with less than 100 base PG ... those things give a percentage increase, while a MAPC gives a flat increase ... with a MAPC and Engineering 4, you get +12 PG units, while that T1 RCU on a Cormorant with Engineering 4 will give 6.6 PG units ...
In other words, a MAPC will give TWO TIMES more PG to a Cormorant than a RCU ... just enough to fit a full rack of T2 rails, in fact.
