Edited by: Hexxx on 21/05/2007 18:27:48 This is a revised draft based on the results and experiences of the first two sessions of the Trading 101 workshop.
In almost all cases, concepts do use examples. It is stressed heavily however that people should avoiding using the examples. They are merely used to illustrate a concept and should not be taking as a "how to" step-by-step process for trading.
The workshop is designed to be a progressive experience that allows participants to reach the conclusions contained within the "final lesson" on their own.
1. Supply & Demand (concept) 2. Diversification (concept) 3. Opportunity Costs (concept) 4. Understanding the Market Button (tool use, what it can tell you) 5. Buy Orders & Sell Orders (tool use, how they work, setting a range, setting a minimum volume, changing your order pricing) 6. Trading Skills (skills, brief discussion on skills) 5. Trading Across Regions (final lesson, using all three concepts previously discussed and the Market tool)
The topics are designed in such a way that each one builds on top of the one before it.
p.s. I'm still working on the topic outline for 201.

Thanks!
I'm trying to consider a few things.
First is the fact that the moniker "trading workshop" may be insuffecient since my current thinking is that any 301 (advanced) class should deal with IPO's, Bonds, business plans, etc
My current thinking is that a 201 (intermediate) session would focus on speculations, marketing manipulation, etc.

Edited by: Sortiario on 22/05/2007 10:19:53 Really seems like a good project you've pulled off. Can't wait for the workshop to appear in European time.
Also, I'd suggest naming it (EVE-)Business Workshop instead. __________________ Sortiario Communication Consulting - SCConsult WoW - Press buttons. And then you die. |

Thanks again.
This project is familiar ground for me. I started doing guest lectures in the business school of my university while I was still in undergrad. I went on to become a member of the faculty (just for one year) doing more lectures on business and technology and then switched over to be to be an assistant instructor for my final year of graduate school for a course called "Organizational Informatics".
Little bit of an explanation for how I sound on Vent when I run these workshops.
Does everyone like the topic list and the order of the topics? Any suggestions for improvement?

In other words, Ricdic, no more telling people about great locations to sell specific items, and high profit t1 manufacturing items to produce.

Something that would be interesting to include in the 201 or wherever would be "scaling up."
It seems pretty easy to utilize isk when you have 10-100 million, less easy when you as you get.....more.
Just a thought and it might cross too far into the "trade secrets" realm.

Actually, that's easily explained by one of the very first concepts of the 101 workshop; laid out here in three simple steps:
1. Diversify 2. Diversify 3. Diversify

Well, it'd be boring if we told them all that stuff. =P

Ironically enough I don't use a single csv at all myself. I guess I can see the value of some of these helper applications but, as I stated during the workshop, which one to "recommend" or cover is a very slippery slope.
But being aware of the export feature and how to use it should/would automatically fall under "Know your market" or "Do your research".
