Well i have been playing Eve for 4 years and i think i know more or less what kind of future mmorpg i would liek to see or in what direction i would like to see Eve evolve:
1-Meaningfull PVP ( region control, real feel of loss).Thats most important for me.( Eve got it thats why im still here after 4 years :))
2- Balanced powers.( eve does not bad on the whole)
3- Interesting combat /strategies wich lasts some.
4- A way to diminish return from focused fire ( so no one in bs or other game equivalent dies below 30 seconds)
5-Eliminating any forms of rl money -- game items/currency deals. So no more macroers farmers etc.I know its propably impossible to elminate on the whole but i think it should be possible to keep it in deep underground so most poeple wont even think about it.Beside its my dream wishes:)
6- The skill time training system or equivalent so not hardcore players can still advance in some way while logged off.
7- if its space sim like eve i would love to see first person joystick control and more realistic flying but i guess it will never be happen, to little poeple would like it:)
8- reasoanble lag so 200 poeple events can happen:)
Thats the top of my wish list, what are yours? Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Kreul Intentions ([email protected]) |

Make Eve faster. Its like being a fish in a fish tank...
Even though I do understand the reasons for it, I still wish the game would be faster quite often. Maybe its just me.

:) agreed , forgot about it.Tough i would apply it only for the grind parts of the game, i would like combat to last even longer... Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Kreul Intentions ([email protected]) |

I could have my RL picture imposed into my EVE portrait.
Have communications devices in RL to communicate with my ships ingame. Watch the markets and interact with orders with such devices.
Make CCP become a real interactive company that includes the properties I own ingame as part of my assests in RL. Be able to use EVE Voice on a communications device that could interact with display screens thru the RL web.

Spread the server CPU pool evenly among all undocked ships, rather than having CPU power dedicated to empty nodes. This type of architecture would better support large fleet battles in a single grid without generating (as much) lag.
When you undock, your ship gets assigned to a CPU based on the current load across the cluster rather than decided by what system you happen to be in. Ether that, or manage the CPU pool dynamically so that more power gets diverted from empty nodes to busy nodes.
Obviously this type of architecture would require an entirely ground-up redesign of the system, and it would likely be much more complex at the code level, but I think itĘs the only way to truly support unlimited blob battles, which is the direction that PvP MMOs will always evolve towards.

1) Better UI for combat situations (at least some customization, more options) 2) Better UI for all other management screens 3) Documentation 4) Better NPC AI 4a) Better drone AI 5) 200 v 200 ship fleet combat with minimal lag 6) Formation flight and warping 7) Blobbing nerf 9) Local chat nerf 10) Autopilot wtz (or at least to, like, 5 km) 10a) Autopilot capable of avoiding obstacles OR 10b) Better collision physics 11) Planetary flight 12) Redesign of agent "quality" system to something dynamic to spread players out 13) Promotion of an Anti-pirate profession by concord OR 13a) Minor concord presence in 0.4 like a frigate or drone squad 14) Ambulation

Well, full body avatars is a must. Very customisable, must be able to change the clothes, makeup, hairstyle etc.
Nice station interiors that we can interact with. Shopping should be more than just clicking on a list. We should be able to walk to the shops, try stuff on. There should also be bars and nightclubs where we can dance and hang out with our mates.
Also if we could have missions where we are walking, that would be cool.
And make all my spaceships white, with two large engines at the back and the bridge at the front on top of a large dish like structure. And do away with all the over complicated weapons, we just need a beam weapon and a missile type weapon.
And do away with armour tanking too, just have shields, much fairer, don't you think.
And make it so that we can right click on someones portrait in local and there is an option "warp to". This would allow local to be kept but keep the pew pew brigade happy.

And while they are at it, design the client to make use of prioritized threading, so that things like opening the market wonĘt lock the GUI.

I want to be able to talk to my Caldari Navy agent in the no-longer-lagged-out Saila, and he'll set me a mission where I have to go outside in my Burst and mine 12 Veldspar roids, bring back their tusks, so he can finish a potion or something. And I want to be paid in silver. Yes.

You mean sitting at a reinforced POS watching the timer tick down over 35+ hours is too intense for you?

Edited by: Ruoska on 22/05/2007 20:09:52 1) Universe without "rooms". Travel is done linearly in 3D galaxy at very high warps (no gates!) and all related game elements from long range active scanners to lower range passive scanners on ships, deep space outposts, warpdisruption mines etc. etc.
2) Free warping (at lower than intergalactic speeds) in systems, not restricted to warp beacons.
3) No local channels! Just player installed messaging relay buoys where voluntary connecting into and chatting can be done within certain ranges (networks of bouys)
That's it for me - that kind of a game ever pops up, I am sure to give it a go (Seriously doubt Eve will ever evolve into that)
Edit: Oh yes, NO ALTS!

well there is taht ofc wich is ultra boring.
But you know there are also real fights in this game (really) wich are ultra fun , and would be imho even more fun when longer with more decsions to be made. -

This Video got me impressed for the apparent feel of space. I will have to keep my eye on the project, thou it would seem like it is in the hands of a few enthusiasists ... meaning it may or may not ever complete or may be so late due to limited resources that no one cares anymore. Nevertheless, I found that interesting

1) Fix lag 2) Seriously, fix the damn lag 3) Nerf the logoffski 4) Nerf local and the starmap 5) POS warfare should be changed so that it isn't about spamming them everywhere. Perhaps some sort of limit on how many can be anchored by a corp and/or alliance in a given period of time? 6) An ability to specify your next skill to train one step ahead. Offline skill training is supposed to help those of us with lives, not create an elaborate situation where which skill you train next is carefully chosen based on how many hours you'll be away from the game.
The point made above about the importance of being able to play dress-ups if/when station walking comes in was the first thing that made me think station walking might be worthwhile. I have no idea why the wardrobe makes that much difference to me, but it does. ------ Agony Unleashed is recruiting. |

More realistic Environment. Long term I'd like Eve to have:
1). Branding (yes I know it has been ruled out any time soon, but it'd make the eve economy as close to truely realistic as you're ever likely to get)
2). Planetary Interaction. Danger is it has the potential to, in features / size and scope of the game, double or more
3). System Wide belts. The current system of a mini belt at some random point is crap and not very realistic
4). More Scenery

Agree with most of your points, though those seem to be two quite unrelated questions (deserving own threads).
But I'll bite on the 'future mmorpg' and list the few most important points I would require from such game: - Winning and losing have consequences (==hurts/profits) - Free working market (adds so much to Eve) - Open ended (i.e. build your own sandbox in your corner)
Think those are the essential, everything else are nice bonuses.

I would like to see combat affect modules and not just ship shield/armor/hull. I have yet to see any module take damage. The only thing I ever pay to repair are my drones and thats because I cannot fix them. I feel that if you get through the ships shields and it starts taking armor damage then there should be a chance modules/guns get damaged and quit working, and possably destroyed so bad they cannot be repaired. Once you get into hull damage then the chance for module/gun not working gets even higher, you may blast a power conduit supplying the gun or module so it then shuts down.
