Hi there,
I have two monitors, both with DVI connections and a box that has two DVI connections to support both monitors.
When I have both monitors plugged in, only one comes on. When I go to Control Panel, Display, Settings, I don't have the option of selecting extended desktop.
My vid card is a 768MB nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

You'll probably want to go in to the nVidia driver's as this is what will be controlling your extended desktop.
You should find it down in your taskbar with the nVidia icon. Right click that, and look for some options.
nVidia make it so windows thinks it only has one monitor, all be it with a large resolution. This has benefits as this allows you to run any program fullscreen over both monitors without windows causing problems.

First thing I have to ask..
When I boot my machine, I get my BIOS POST data displayed on both monitors. That happening?
Second, and I have seen this many times... most people don't know that you have to actually click the monitor in the window before you get the ungreyed tickbox for extending your desktop.
You are selecting the monitor by clicking on the picture, right?

Thanks guys for the huge help. I have it working now.
Nvidia did have their own little 'Control Panel' and I had to set this to 'Dual View'. Then I went back to the real Control Panel -> Display -> Settings and swapped the positions of Monitor 1 and Monitor 2 and hit 'Apply.
This gave me the increased desktop space now. So I have 2 eve clients opened, both in Windowed mode, one on each Monitor and the mouse traverses across one monitor to the next as if it were a single monitor.
You want to choose "Dual View" and not "Clone View" when getting 2 monitors to provide you the extended desktop view.
Thanks alot for your help guys.

you should also have an option for 'span view' i think it is. Stretches one desktop across both.
clone is next to useless, but dual view is sweet cause its literally 2 seperate desktops sewn together.
you can set independent resolutions, color settings, everything for each monitor. (real nice to match up your colors if you use a CRT + LCD) skies the limit!
