Bored and wondering what to do, I decided to camp p3en gate. So I'm sitting there in my Deimos, and I get a convo from a friendly in local letting me know he's cloaked off the gate (In a Minmatar HAC). A friendly Retribution warps to the gate, sits there and I send it a gang request.
It turns out, my HAC wingman never killed anyone before. Afterall, he is fitted with a cloak. I wasn't aware of this till after the fact.
One neutral in local, a Lachesis pilot. He warps to the gate, targets me and starts molesting my poor Deimos. I don't even bother going after him; he'll have me sensor dampened below blaster range. So I just sit there and perma-tank his damage. I found it pointless to chase him, and soon he found it pointless to continue testing my tank. He warps away, I continue orbiting the gate.
when all of a sudden...
Gate fires (get excited), a ship uncloacks and shows up on my overview, a Myrmidon! Oh man, that will do nicely... but then, another ship shows up, a second Myrmidon! Crap! Poof, another ship on overview, the Lachesis pilot... oh man, we are so screwed!
So, I figure what the hell, I'm far away from the precious jump zone of the gate, might as well take one down. Drones deployed, pew pew pew....
First Myrmidon pops, should I head for the gate? Yes, I'm already half armor, got a Recon and another Tier 3 BC on me... fortunately, the other Myrmidon was humping the gate too... pew pew pew, his sheilds melt, his armor is melting... but so is mine! My armor is gone, structure starts slowly filling red... oh man... then pop, the Myrmidon is down. 22% structure left, Lachesis pilot still trying, but my repping is pulling my armor back up to 100%.
Lachesis pilot once agains figures it's pointless, warps off. Already excited, I tell my gang mates not to pop the pods, a little thanks for reminding me what EVE was all about.
Before we could even open a single wreck... gate fires.... on overview, a Prophecy and a Coercer... mind you, I only have 22% structure, and a sexah fiery beard on my Deimos. Figure, what the hell... pew pew pew, Coercer down. Slap the MWD, head for the Prophecy... soon, it pops too!
After that, we sit back and look at the gate... it really did look like a war zone with pods floating towards the gate, wrecks, abandoned drones....
That's when my new buddy in his HAC informed me he never killed anything before. I was sorta shocked, I wouldn't have engaged had I known that. But it turns out, that we destroyed those ships regardless.
Deimos, Retribution and a cloaked fresh pvp pilot in a Munin destroys two T2 fitted Myrmidons, Prophecy and a Coercer.
I love EVE! :)
P.S. the Lachesis pilot organized another gang and we died. :)

gratz on the kills it looks like a really sweet fight. the deimos however does still suck. 2 nub myrmidon pilots doesn't change that

I love the Deimos, but frankly you should have died in the first engagement

its possible to kill a deimos in a myrm. They must have been noobs if they let you get into decent blaster range rather than webbing you to nothing and letting their drones and nos kill you.

well first of all your assuming they have nos. many don't.
the point is that if u were electron fit i can see just about how u tanked them long enough but an electron deimos is fairly easy to tank in a myrmidon and if u were dmg fit then yes you can kill them fairly quickly but u would have been toast in no time against 10 decent drones.
obviously the chap did well but yeah not the best myrmidon pilots

Like what DE said, a blaster myrm or blaster/nos myrm is usually fine when in a Deimos. It's when they are mostly nos or fitting ACs is when the pain comes.

what people i think are failing to realise is the fact that the friendly fleet also has a munnin which is one hell of a damage dealer if fitted correct. You will more than likely find that accompanied with the deimos was producing more than enough damage to quickly take down each Myrmidon. Hense why the deimos was able to tank for the length he did. Therefor as everyone in this game seems to always think that oh my god what noobs it wasnt the case to be...
Thats why 99% of people in this game can type a good fight but are unable to take in the hole picture before responding to anyones thread

This is the most awesome misconception in EVE because it has bagged me so many kills I never would have gotten otherwise.

myrmidon should have killed your diemos. I wonder what

I turned off "show corp/alliance" because, to be frank, I'm ashamed of them. They'll be turned back on when I'm somewhere more suitable for someone of my talents. |

Only thing the deimos is good for is killing guristas imo.
A myrm with a few nos and Ogre II's would make pretty short work of a deimos.

I congradualte you on your your victory. ou took down what i probably would have been iced in do too lack of skill alone, on th eother hand you never know until you just stick it out and fight.
The p3en g8 is not too fare from where i am. :)

I like the deimos but I don't like the price (esp. fully fitted.) Let's see - I can fully fit an astarte for 20m less than I fully fit a deimos - or even for the same rough price. Uh... I'll take the astarte thanks.

Deimos should die easily to a good basic t2 BC pilot. Myrm should have easily killed you.
Guess you were lucky, but Deimos can't pull off much of a tank, nice dmg, but with 1 repper and no other factors in it the best you're gonna get is like a 200dps tank at a stretch.
Yet for some reason Deimos's cost 120mil, could put together an insane Brutix or Myrm for that money.
For 120 mil a 800 - 850 dps Brutix is possible and would have more of a tank than the Deimos =/
Average Deimos is about 650 dps.
