I've been playingnow for about a year and I am realizing that my attribues probably are setup pretty bad. I ended up with 26 charisma(don't ask me how, I don't remember). Here is my attribute breakdown with level 5 in all basic learning skills and level 4 in all advanced learning skills. Intelligence 17 Perception 18 Charisma 26 Willpower 15 Memory 14
Currently I have 8,678,701 Skill Points. Is it worth starting over with a new char, or should I just deal with what i've got now. Are there any things I can do to improve my learning, or anything I can do to actually use my Charisma skill?

I know I would start over. Buy some implants and do your learning, isn't that much to catch up to.

my char was about 9months old and had the same amount of points as u have. still i disliked him for several reasons, sold him and started making heavy use of my alt. which is my main now. lol if u feel like it, just start over. u wont waste points cause u know what to train for, with good attributes and maybe some implants u ll have 8m pts rather quick...
actually its prolly not worth starting over though, i think it would take quite a few years to reach the same amount SP as "Belgarion" would have at that point.
just do whatever u feel like. or maybe just think about getting an alt and once the alt is well trained, sell belgarion or something..

depends on what he can do, if hes trained to do what you want its tough
maybe sell him and by a lower sp char with good learning.
My 10 month old char I mined charisma, and balanced all other attribute on and when to advance 4s and have been using +4s for four months on is about to break 15million sp

Edited by: Lunaz on 25/05/2007 08:10:07 I been playin for about a month and week or something like that and i have :
21 - Memory 21 - Inteligence 18 - Perception 18 - Willpower 11 cha something like that
Lv4 : Learning/Instant Recall/Eidetic Memory/Analytical Mind/Logic/Spacial Awareness/Iron Will Lv3 : Clarity/Focus Lv1 : Empathy
and a full set of +3 implants
i am not sure if thats good but with another level of focus and clarity i would have 21/21/19/19/11
eventualy i will get +5 to basic learning skills but i find its better to get something new and play around aka new ship etc while training longer than a day skills.
Just hit the 2m SP mark yesterday i think it was though ^_^
Myself i would try and get implants atleast +3's if you dont already have em put them on and if you are atleast close to 20 i would stay with the 8m+ char. But then again i am still new to the game so i dont know alot hehe.

ouch, id start again, get yourself an alt training all learning skills and keep farming isk on that char untill its finished all learning skills, ive got pretty poor percep, amarr ftw :D its similar to yours, however my other attributes (except charisma) are all about 25 so im satisfide with a slight loss of time on other skills, and even i considered starting over with a civire or other blooidline with insane percep!!!!
however, just do what you want, youll prety quickly overtake that char with decent stats though

As for things you can use a high charisma for, look into the leadership skilltree, gang support is a nice thing to have, and everybody hates to train it up properly (to be able to use mindlinks) because they have a low charisma... so you'd be the perfect candidate for gangleader. ___
A balanced char ignoring charisma would be "all 9s and charisma 3". With that, plus nearly maxed-out learning (all basics to L5, advanced to L4) and a set of +4 implants, you'll get 24 (actually, 24.2) in all attributes except charisma (which will be 17, or better said 17.6).
AT BEST, you would train things 50% faster as now (but usually a bit less), or in other words you'll need to spend AT LEAST TRIPLE THE TIME you already spent training your character to catch up... so, let's say, one year and a half. If you restart now, this character would still be better off for that timeframe, only after almost two years will you notice any significant improvement.
So, if you want to spend more than two years in the game, then by all means, start a new char. If you're not sure, don't reset, just keep going. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

just as a comparrison... another of my close to year old players has almost 19 mil skill points. He's an Acura Monk...
So if you started over with an Achura Monk, trained learing skills first and got implants, you'd make up the difference in about a year.
So it really depends on if you see yourself playing for more than another year. Of course there are other intangables like social connections you've made...

the only way i'd start over is if you could do a character trade or buy & sell for a similar SP char. Starting again with all the basic skills is a pain and may well ruin your enjoyment of the game for months.
If it meant starting again I'd rather keep your current char, sit back and relax & not worry about a SP race.

not so sure since he "only" has 8m... all i can say is that it didnt ruin my enjoyment. but then again at the moment i have not much time to play due to university and stuff.
i guess it rly depends on the situation. do u spend a lot of time playing at the moment? are u busy in the next weeks and dont find much time to play? do u want to play for at least another 1 to 2 years. etc etc answer these questions for yourself and then decide what u want to do.

Let me make a wild guess.. You were drunk and wanted to get laid (at least virtualy), so you pimped your charisma... And memory attribute, it kinda, reflects your RL persona

Your Attributes suck (so do mine, so dont feel to bad)
But if you plan to shoot stuff with that character while grouped with other players, Leadership skills will use Charisma. Get into a Command Ship.
If you run missions, you can also get good use of the charisma.
If you do heavy use of trade skills, those also use charisma.
If none of those are true, you have a lot of wasted attribute points.
For combat characters, especially in the long run, Perception and Willpower dominate (my 2 worst attributes sadly). Int and Memory take 3rd and 4th slot for "most" players, but heavy use charisma using skills can make charisma "useful", even if Perception and Willpower are still king for combat.

You only have 8 million points in a year? You should have between 12 million and 15 million.
I'd start a second character in my account and transfer all my stuff to him/her. Train up to Level IV implants and rock through the learning skills 5/4. In 6 months you'll be where you are now, after a year, you'll be where you'd be in a year anyway.

I agree. Save up enough to buy your alt a full rack of +3 implants. Train up Cybernetics so you can use those implants. Train Learning skills (4+4, and then maybe the 5th level of your basic attribute skills). In a year or maybe a year and a half you should have enough skillpoints to equal the ones you would have if you didn't switch character. That is, if you chose a race with a minimised Charisma score and decent perception. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it.
