Need to work out how to get Adobe Premiere to export the vid nicer. Lost track of how many times I tried with bad results.

Just on the topic of your encoding:
a) 987kbps is not enough
b) You're using "ZJMedia MPEG Encoder" according to a quick check of mine. Whatever it is, you should be using the official Xvid encoder with the best motion search settings, maxed bframes, etc (see the video guide of mine).
Other than the encoding its not bad though at all.

Thanks for watching. I realised after I'd posted that not everyone will understand it, and think it is a bit(lot?) random. To be honest, I made it for an audience of one (M: you know who you are) but thanks for downloading and commenting
Thanks for the tip, DS. Will be checking out your thread for my next attempt. The whole Premiere thing was a bit confusing. I'm pretty amazed that I managed to do produce something in a couple of hours without ever having used it before to be honest.
