Aye, I made a bit of a mistake there and damped you after you deployed drones. I hardly think you're in a position to gloat over kills at the moment ;).
who cares the end of the day it was a blob kill it was obvious that he wasnt going to stay alive

I think you missed a post. He was in siege mode for 10 minutes, so the goal was to kill him inside that 10 minutes or he would just dock. The blob wasn't overkill, it was actually quite close as I recall. Something like 7 minutes. He could have even made it if he hadn't used cap relays in his lows instead of hardeners.
It could have gone either way, he could have blown up or ended siege mode in time and docked. We brought the appropriate firepower to bear given the situation. If it was at a gate or something, I would agree with you, but it wasn't.

I find it amusing that people think bringing enough dps to just kill a target is a blob. Technically it's almost a gank but it could have gone either way.
That and how no one has commented on how lame station humping is. "If you had a gang of 81127 kestrals you could alpha strike Tranquility Server into a smoking hole in the ground" |

DarkElf,
You forget this - the station in question has a 30km docking range. Ginger wouldn't have entered siege mode unless he was confident he could dock as soon as he came out.
If we'd pulled a carrier on him, he'd have docked and groomed his epeen. Getting through 550k HP in 7 minutes + repping - bear in mind he didn't even have time to self-destruct - and you'll notice that we're talking about the *necessity* for over 100k damage a minute, pre-resists. Now also think about the fact that our gang had to get the carriers into the system once he'd engaged without clueing him into the fact that was a trap beforehand. You can't just line them up outside a station and hold up a sign saying "Please enter siege mode so you can't dock".
Is any fleet that does 100k damage a minute a gank squad, or is it just the tool for the job?

Well he does, but he loses them within a day or so. He just has no idea how to fit or fly capital ships.

Someone take this guy's ships off him and give it to someone who has a bloody clue who to use them.
We just popped his new Moros. Thats two in two days. He self-destructed to stop us getting a killmail (same as the thanatos kill a few weeks ago). This new and improved moros was fitted with a heavy nos, no siege module, no capacitor gear, no rigs and large armour repairers instead of capital ones. We bumped him off the obscenely large docking ring (30km) (it took a while and he could have just docked, but he didn't) and then just laid into him with damage.
The grand total loot from this moros: 158 x Plutonium Charge XL 1 x Warrior I
Now he's threatening to come back with another capital ship, as always paid for by his corpmates gatecamping. I hope the real members of SNOWY are getting all of this.

Character must've been sold on. GM aint the best PVPer around, but I know he has enough knowhow in EVE to at least fit a capital relatively well. Large armour reps, no siege just reeks of ebay or eve-o forum trade tbh.

I really wish this was true, but his attitude hasn't changed in the past year. His last moros was fitted relatively well apart from thinking that cap relays were a good idea against a group that have previously used neuts on him.

I absolutely understand the firepower needed to drop a dread in docking range and never suggested overkill.
I simply pointed out that the sheer number of cap losses that Ginger has sustained is such that should a thread pop up every time then my sanity will be in question.

I spared your sanity a little and posted his second dread loss in this one thread. We're having fun, it's good practice for if we ever have to fight any real capital pilots.

Or it could be that we've now drained his corp wallet so far that he just can't afford them
Oh, and Hellsing? This was hardly a gank. Gankage is lining up multiple BS/Cap at a gate so that targets don't have a prayer of getting through. This was pure strategy and tactics.

Sorry if that came over a little strong DE. But if you have to put up with his epeen in your own system, you'd prolly be posting in my place!
