Edited by: Cafu on 26/05/2007 22:29:10 Hi,
I just canceled my subscription, but I don't see where I can delete my credit card information. I see no reason for CCP to retain my credit card information after cancellation. How can I delete this information from my account profile?

I think the best you can hope for is to e-mail CCP requesting that your credit card information be wiped.
I have no idea if they are obligated to do so when presented with that request.
This assumes of course it isn't just purged along with the rest of your account info upon cancellation.
If you are really concerned about that just report your card missing and have a new one issued. Bit of a hassle but not too big a deal.

I can say definitively - CCP are under no obligation to delete your info. I work in an industry where we accept credit cards. There's no way to ensure they don't have your card details, other than cancelling your card and getting a new one.
They do, however, have an obligation to keep the info safe. Good luck proving anything other than unauthorised charges though. Believe me, CCP have forgotten you already. Your credit card number is nothing more than an encrypted data file somewhere in the billing database.

I'll try emailing CCP.
I don't see any reason that I should have to cancel my card. I don't think CCP will try to keep that information against my wishes, I just assumed they don't have a mechanism for deleting it on the website.

Couldn't you change your billing method, removing the credit card information?
I think if you switch billing methods, the CC info goes away.
