Why not ? I say make them have to run the system they stole in for the counter . If you steal , then no shelter at stations , and no jumping out . Same as global , way too many griefers out there preying on miners , who really make the game go around anyway.That way , the miner gets a shot at revenge . fair is fair , and the way it stands , it's unfair!

Why? if the person stole from ur jet can it is exactly that, a jet can. something you have jetttisoned therefore you don't want it anymore. not a huge crime really. Or he stole from a wreck? free rights to salvage i say

I have a better idea. Give a 15 minute global criminal counter for any miner who uses a jet can :)

Oh how I remember how miners whined and whined for CCP to put in can flagging. Instead of loosing just their ore, they're now loosing their ore *AND* their ships somehow.

Pretty obvious someone stole this carebears ore. 
Like Dark said jetcan=free for anyone to take.
Its pretty easy to understand either ,anchor some cans, get a hauler buddy or take the risk of someone stealing your can.
These issues have been around for sucha while and yet something so simple and u havent adapted.

I don't jencan mine, as there are too many tools out there who can only find enjoyment in being nuisances. I mine to my hold, petition bumpers and people who harass me thinking I'm macroing (AFK Mining + Bookmark != MACRO, seriously, go away.)(and the GM's do a very heavy handed job reminding these people that they are just players, not rule enforcers.).
If they want to waste their time screwing around like this while I rake in the ISK, so be it. I take solace in the fact that eventually, they will step on the wrong toes, and get more than their own back in terms of grief.

afk mine + bookmark doesn't always mean a macro mining,
as some people do that cuz mining is bored.
but yeah it is stupid to use jetcan because you can simply warp, dock, undock, go to belt, mine, repeat!

Apparently, some fanboi people seem to think that if you're in a Mack all alone and warp to the same point, you're teh macro scumz. To the second point, such is how I mine. No risk, whats mine is mine, and I can just rig/cargo expand when I need more space.

Or you can make a SS 50000km away from the Belt, and drop a can there. Warp times are slower, and no-one can steal it.
(P.S, Jetcan Miners need to return to Sobaseki please, it appears we killed them all...)

If the contents of a jetcan is something I don't want anymore, then why do you get flagged as a thief when you take it?

You know, there are such devices called warp scramblers and they do fit on a mining barge.
I've seen it happen several times.
PvP Covetors are not to be taken lightly.
Nor is the Battlemammoth...
