Edited by: Michael Caldar on 28/05/2007 12:00:46 Race - irrelevant, as you can train any skills. But the best indy is Iteron V and many Gallente characters start with Gallente Frig at 3+ which you need to train Industrial skill (cannot be trained on trials).
Personally, I'm very happy running Bustard-Crane-Charon combo (Caldari boats). Bustard goes up to 30,605m3 (10 GSCs) with 5x T2 expanders and 2x T1 cargo rigs + is surprisingly fast with an MWD fitted. Crane - up to 9,405m3 (2x T2s and 2 rigs). Charon... is a Charon - 863K m3 with level 2 Cali Freighters.
If I was starting out again - still would go Caldari route as Minnie boats are just plain ugly, Amarr lack capacity and Iteron looks like a stick insect but that's my personal preference and YMMV.
When creating a new hauler character keep in mind that all boats are governed by Perception/Willpower so max out on those.

I'm interested in this, what choices do i make so that the new character will be able to haul from the get go.
I remember there was a treat that showed how to get a hauling alt from the beginning, but i can't find it. All i can remember is that it was a minmatar. |

You cannot train Industrials on Trials - hence no starting characters get Indy skill. Have a look here (Starting characters skills) and keep in mind that you need Spaceship Command III and (Race) Frigate III in order to train (Race) Industrial skill.
It's a level 4 skill, base book price is 270K and (Race) Indy level I should take you less than an hour. So, not right "out of the box" but within an hour you can be roaming the space in your very own (Race) Indy... God help us all

It should be noted that in the few hours it takes to get that Amarr dude into his Bestower you can also train a Caldari alt to get into a Badger I, then very quickly Badger II.
Which family line and education to choose is left as an excercise to the reader (I'm at work), hint: just add up as many Caldari Frig levels as possible at char creation.
Max out Perception and Willpower (and Science III if you can get it, not sure, for using some +1 or +2 implants) and that gets you into an Iteron V while you already have the Badger II to cover for that time. --

I'm no Google Docs expert, but I think you need to Share it so anyone can view, and then Publish it.
