It's a John Lennon cover, alright. I say it's a sublime one.
Most modern-artists name 'The Beatles' as an influence, few have got the guts to cover them, even few have succeeded. Green Day have imho. I can't stop listening to it. Oh and don't forget their producer, I doubt all credit can go to Green Day themselves.

Anything Green Day do now will never be a patch on the stuff they were doing years ago. Its a shame but since 'American Idiot' they changed their style a lot simply to appeal to the 'mainstream' listener. Dookie and Nimrod and the likes were great albums at the time, but IMO atleast, Green day are way past their best. -----

Green Day are a pop band, and a crap one at that. Their pretence at punk only goes to show how far from having a clue they really are. Along with the likes of Limp Bizkit and Blink 182 they are 1 of the worst bands around.

Even that lot is overplayed now. I used to love Dookie and now im sick and tired of hearing it. Clubs and radio stations like Kerrang playing it to death.

heh, Godhead covered Eleanor Rigby, and even did a pretty good job too... but that way a while ago now...
The Few, The Proud, The Beatle's-not-sucky cover artists!
I represent only my own views, they just happen to be the right ones. |
