I figured this would be the place to ask - where are some low security marketplaces located at? Are there any? I'd like to able to yarr without relying on ninja shopping or being in a huge alliance that can manufacture everything. ________________________________________________

When IAC isn't playing NBSI, some of their outposts in 0.0 have decent markets.

There are a few low sec mini hubs, but normally they are isolated low sec pockets. The only reason they are stocked is because of a high mission runner population that keeps the area Yarr free.
So judging by your Yarr in your intial post, Im not sure if you would be any more welcome there than high sec. --

Hrm. So, does anyone know how most everyday pirates are able to keep themselves stocked if they can't go into hi-sec and there are no real low sec hubs? ________________________________________________

Good example of how seldom you find lowsec trading hubs is Stacmon. It basically serves all of the mercantile needs for the entire Placid region, and not coincidently, it is one of the few highsec systems in the entire region. It's the gateway into chaos, without being anarchy itself, so that's where the market comes to exist.

Look around your area for production corps. Set up a deal with them: They provide you goods at fair market prices in low-sec stations, and in exchange you won't pirate them.
I'm looking to move into low-sec in a month or two, and I'd be happy with such a deal should a pirate ask it of me. Others may react the same way.

Since there aren't any good market hubs in lowsec (or at least not for pirates) should we have a look if we can create one all together?
Let's have a discussion on what products and in what location they are needed...
The OP can start, where would you like your hub? What products do you need? And if you really want to get the ball rolling, start pointing other pirates/low sec dwellers to this thread from the crime and punishment forum and hope they post their desires as well. Sooner or later traders or manufacturers will see this thread and think to themselves, mmmm, maybe there's a profit there, let's put up a few goods for sale and see how they sell.
If the buyers can agree on a couple of hubs in this thread it might work out, who knows.

Edited by: Algorithm 5 on 29/05/2007 11:30:08 Since this is essentially a forum for carebears, the REAL question you need answered is if any of us KNEW (and presumably serviced) any decent low-sec hubs (I can think of two and a half) would we actually tell you their location outright and risk having you turn up and gank our haulers :)
That said, let me suggest to you the following.
There are areas of the map that contain BOTH low-sec and 0.0
People in these areas with bad security status still need to shop, just like in your situation.
There's going to be places separated by at least 5-10 jumps from high-sec, and probably close'ish to 0.0, almost certainly with a factory in it, that those people can run to (and at least have gun cover and protection from dictors) for safety and to shop.
Look around that area.
Just as the last decent 0.5 system touching low-sec can often be a hub system, the same can apply for the low-sec -> 0.0 transition.
Having lots of missions doesn't hurt either.
You can also try looking on the map for low-sec systems with high "docked ships" counts. Anywhere people sit in for long periods of time means either afk or shopping/fitting, but signs of a hub.
