Test Patch 1366 Includes excellent usability improvements in the field of UI window response and reduction in short stalls when opening closing windows along with chat stalls.
As the changes were rather vast, it is possible that some window management, specifically updates of contents and possibly flickering, might be a miss in some areas. It would be nice if you posted your 1366 experiences here.

Edited by: Liem on 09/01/2004 20:47:24 I just installed the 1366 patch, I was stuck before the patch, but got unstuck after I applied it, but now I don't see any chat windows, and I tried manually rejoining eve-chaos channel, but I only saw one guy in the userlist (and I know there were more ppl in there) And this exception comes in the Log Server:

Chaos only I'm fairly certain. He said "test" patch, the Tranq patches that aren't auto updated are normally called "optional"

'Show info' windows throw an exception and then never load. Chat windows don't open create new chat window throws exception the first time you try to make one. Typing in a chat window throws exception unless portraits are turned off in the text window right-click > "fit to active ship" pops up a modal about the item being fitted but nothing happens Fitting modules by drag and drop pops up a modal about waiting for it to finish
On the bright side "auto repeat" seems to be remembering it's setting and modules seem to be able to be turned off and on again. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

I wish I could test it now, as the modules work again, but I'm stuck on entering space, and the BHs can't help me because the /tr command says i'm offline  --- Zitek Corporation |

If i take show info on somehing it just loads and never get done so i cant switch tabs...
Might be just me but

i installed the latest patch for chaos and know when the user agreement shoes up it won't let me scroll down all the way to were i have to click yes. anyone know how to fix this? |

Ok, there are HUGE improvements. The scrolling for example now don't lag anymore.
Some windows still give small freezes for example: - When you load faces of agents - When you open systems, stations windows, ships infos etc... (because of the images I guess) - When you open peoples and places window
In general there's a huge improvements at using tabs and the scrolling. In particular the scrolling is now perfect.
There's still problems when a new window has an image too, the image still freezes the game. So it happens every time you use a window to show infos on an entity.
I cannot test the bugs related to the chat because the window doesn't show here (1368).
And my omnipresent list of tweaks I'd like to see: - Many, many stations have large flickering textures on them, Amarr stations in particular, please fix. - Large ships 3D models should disappear at a bigger distance than small ships. It's really ugly to see big ships popping in from the void when they are already near you. - Eve client has lost its beautiful blue icon! Give me it back. - Please make the ship slow down/accelerate when resynching with the server, instead of shifting it back and forth (for example when exiting warp tunnels) - Use the fade in/out even when jumping between system to polish the effect. - Use the cloak effect even when entering/exiting a station to polish the effect. - Put the minimize button even on the agent mission descriptions. - Allow to show/hide panels by using the bar on the left, right now you can show a window but re-clicking does not hide it again.

No changes for the chat window: - Selecting text freezes the client - Changing tabs freezes the client - New chat messages freeze the client

Heres another idea:
Cloak the players ship instantly along with removing the cloaking sound when jumping (gets very annoying) Set the velocity on the player to 0. Remove HUD from player. Set the players camera to that of the stargate (as if they did a look at on the stargate)
Would be my ideal effect when jumping  ------- Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes Guardian Enforcer, wrecking for 827.3 damage. |

Sorry to be out the thread too but I agree on these cosmetics changes. Suggestion: set the camera on the stargate, then make it move in direction of the jump, use a white (why not } fade in and then fade out when the loading of the system is totally complete . But more important, when enter stations, do something, the game is too beautiful to see ships and stations suddently disappear (the fade in comes too late ). And when exciting stations, don't let the camera drone go through the walls of stations, or don't place it through them but very near of the ship. See stations' textures and polygons each time I undock is a real pain . Then to avoid players warp through stations, make a little warp disruption field of about 3/4 km around all stations. My last one, find something about the collision problem with planets during warp. Some of these things bring me and my friends back down to reality each time it happens and that's not cool...
