Quick question about drones.
Do Tech II medium drones hit harder than Tech I Heavy drones?? ie...Hammerhead II vs Ogre I

Haven't checked, but I can say with 99% certainty that they don't.

biggies hit harder even if your skills in mediums re much better.
they are cheaper then T2 hammerheads too.
This is ofchause unless you send them after a frig or something like that.

actually, in my experience, T2 drones hit about the same as a drone one class larger, i.e. T2 lights hit about the same DPS as t1 mediums, and so on...
but, that is just my experience ^^

No, unless youre sending heavies against something they would have trouble hitting.
So, if youre attacking a big target, heavies will do better. If youre attacking something really small and fast (npc frigates for example), T2 mediums are better bet.

Heavy Drone Ops lvl3 (I know, I know)
Assuming the latest Quickfit applies skills properly (it didn't at one point).....
Hammerhead II x 5
104.8 DPS
Ogre I x 5
155.0 DPS
So even with crap skills, heavies still outdamage mediums. I still prefer them because they're faster and I can carry spares and stick in some T2 lights to chase after frigs. That doesn't account for tracking and time traveling to target either (ogres are slow).

depending what you want to kill and how far it is.
close and big = heavy drone
far and medium = medium drone

1.92 x 1.25 x 1.1 x 12 = 31,68 for hammerheads
1.6 x 1.05 x 24 = 40,32 for ogres
Thus not even under extreme circumstances.

Don't forget travel time, however, especially since Heavies have a bad habit of getting hung on each other and dropping into "go slow" mode. Particularly when the targets are keeping range on me and are all spread out, I can often clear areas with medium T2's as fast as I can with heavies.
