An important part of battle is having a fallback plan in case of failure. Live to fight another day :).
Single individuals, and groups going into a fight should be able to set up a single fall back point. Once setup it would be displayed clearly on the main UI. No submenues; only a single click is required.
If a battle goes bad, the "fall back" button would imediately warp back to the fallback point.
This improves the odds of saving skin and ship in case of a not so ordered retreat.
Some kind of penalty for using this covardly retreat could be implemneted. Honour points, lowering your standings, or something similar?

They're called bookmarks, actually. And they're already implemented!
Instead of 'honour points', there's a thing called 'local' where people whine about how you ran away. Fortunately, they tend to stop doing that if you pod them a couple of times.

Already implemented, it's not on the UI (yet) but can be accessed by shortcut.

In other words, plan your assault before the battle. An SS with backupships and anchored ammo cans is always good.
