If I woulda had my war set up on instead of 5 magnetic feilds and 3 sensor boosters and 2 weapon enhancers, I wouldn't of died. =/ Lesson learned, I wont be flying unless i have my war set up on for now on.

I hereby suggest all piratehunters amongst sign my whole new "WARN THE PIRATE" treaty :
the idea is that all pirate hunters abiding by this treaty should always give their preys :
- the exact time when they'll jump/warp in,
- the exact places they'll warp in, by providing bookmarks
- the exact setup and type of all of the incoming ships, so that they can refit to their war setup to be able to counter the attack of the incoming pirate hunters force.
Hopefully such an thing will improve the relationship between pirates and their hunters and keep the c&p forum flamefree.
Feel free to add ideas, and contact me if you're willing to sign such a wonderful paper.

Yeah i too agree with tank, if he had his running set up on he would have lived. Like all the people he shoots would have survived had they known they were about to get killed on loadup.
Anyone noticed a repeating excuse coming up here with the terrorists, i CTD i was outnumbered, my brother was on the computer, i had my pants round my ankles, i had mining lazers on.
Im not a phsycologist (and cant spell) but it sounds to me like these kids cant take losing, thats why they cheat and moan so much. You need to take a step back and read what you write boys... a few notes..
you dident die because you had the wrong config, you died because someone had figured out what setup you had and equiped acordingly, equip a tank and you would have been cap drained etc, I hear it was a planed kill
and btw, Bas, he wasent really alone, if he hadent self destructed his Raven he would probably still be alive when h4x0 warped in with his Apocalypse, but now outnumbered, and outside scrambling range, h4x0 warped away again..

So let me get this straight. Tanksie thinks he's "cool" because he fits a fast-lock, long-distance gate-gank specializing ship and shoots anything that crosses his path.
But then when he gets beat its because he was in a highly specialized ship not his "PvP" load, thus not his fault and we shouldn't think it any big deal.
Sounds like someone wasn't flying the right ship for his status...and pigeonholed himself into a closet that someone else took the tactical effort to slam the door on.
Pity him? Nope. Grats to them who done the deed!

This post makes me laugh. Firstly Tank didnt whine moan and ***** about being podded, he accepts it. He just simply pointed out that if he had his war gear on he would not have been podded (which is sickening but true).
Also this crap about pirates only killing noobs is really old. If we only killed noobs we would never be able to afford all the bs we have and all the cool mods. Also are the NVA noobs and in frigs...I think not and we attack them all the time.

Actually Tank has a valid point about the loadout. It's not an excuse, didn't see him whine or anything. Someone asked what happened and he responded why it happened, no more, no less.
*Edit* forgot to add something, being the reason for the loadout: piracy in 0.0 alone ... pointless, little to no traffic or big ass alliances. Charging tolls in Empire space ... pointless, no one pays, everyone tries to run since you cannot make the target stay at your camp with scrambler/webifier. Therefor it's killing for loot, in order to achieve that, you gotta rig for fast lock and lotsa damage resulting in little to no defense. BTW this is no whine, it's the way it is.

Then the thing I mentioned earlier in this thread about piracy in 0.0 atm (i.E. no traffic which to an extend is CCP's fault, uber npc spawns etc). On the other hand, many ppl, not only pirates, agree that piracy is about MAKING money and not losing it, which means ... no sane pirate would engage when the odds are against him/her. Isn't that what you ppl soooo friggin hate about us? That we don't heroically get podded in the manner of "true" fighters when we see a big ass gank squad coming for our ass? Little reality check here, everyone else (with brains) in this game also does so. Still, keep on flaming us, I couldn't care less (just trying to get some facts straight). Kudos to Reah for not bragging about how badly they pwned Tank btw...
Then my next point, 1vs1 duels. There is nothing that could be more pointless cause it actually is the LEAST PvP action that requires the most RL skills (and that, I guess, is what ppl wanna test). It DOES require some knowledge about modules (which everyone gets after a while) and luck (in various terms, i.E. a good guess what weapons the enemy might have rigged) which is basically all. If both guys engaging knew before what ship they're going up against, it might very well end up in a stalemate btw, had that happen in a friendly duel once. Anyways, what I am saying is that the only PvP action in Eve to require some RL skills (which you all brag about when calling ppl lamers and nublars) are fleet battles (after what I wrote so far HOMO might be upset but settle down dude, Evol quite rock in fleet battles, like other factions too btw), cause they require planning and strategy.
So umm ... let's follow the Tank CEO example ... if you think he only can gank nublars, you might be terribly wrong. Now only about the character itself, which at this point might have over 6 mil sp, together with a lvl 2 bship in combo with some rare mods, you really think it would be soo damn easy to kill him in a decently setup ship? Reality check, you're wrong. He got caught with pants down (empire camp setup, nuff said) and that's about it.
And the whole thing about killing ppl for loot in empire ... let's face it, there are still ppl carrying nice stuff in shuttles or frigates, and looting doesn't necessarily require someone with a hauler or an alt closeby.

Well, anyone halfway decent can outfit a scorp to be virtually unkillable in a 1v1.
Anyone can outfit a scorp to jam and kill anything else save for itself and a couple other setups.
If 2 shielded scorps fight each other it usually ends up being fairly boring.
I'm still interested to hear from Tank about his 2vs1 proposal that faded away.
Tank, I thought you were a one man army? You still down for that 2v1 you said you could win? |

Bas, in all fairness I personally believe you make some very valid points. I would rather meet a pirate who at least tried to rob me rather than just blow crap out of me due to a lack of options. Beyond catching someone mining the only common way I can see to pirate people for loot is to do what you do and camp gates ganking all from 70km's away. Not quite how I imagined the role of pirates should be and I hope it does become more pirate friendly in future. As for people carrying stuff in shuttles you would be gobsmacked. We conducted a blockade in the empire some short time back and were scanning people for slaves in their holds. I think the guy that had several hundred million of BP's in his hold was either very brave, very trusting of our promises to all that it was merely an anti slave patrol or just plain daft. Despite the Oh so strong temptation to accidentally fire ;) we let him go along with his mega million isk cargo.

Well back when I got my FIRST cruiser I had NPC hunting gear on an was ganked up by 2 Scorps! I probably could make a run for it if i had anti-EW gear on. I think u never saw me moan about it on the forum.
Fighting in EVE is like a paper-scissors-stone game, the timing is important. Ofcourse u win if u have the scissors against the paper at the right time. Its not about the abilities we posses its about the desicions we make.
