Hi, I've never seen this asked before, maybe because it's not possible, maybe because it's against the rules, maybe both (As is the case in most games).
But is it possible and allowed to log in under your main and an alt at the same time, for example, your main does mining while your alt transfers the cargo to a station leaving you free to carry on without worrying too much?
If it's against the rules I obviously wont do it, so no need for flaming :)
Thanks

That depends. On the same account? No. On different accounts? Yes.
Actually having two accounts logged in at once (you can even run two instances of EVE on the same computer, though windowing is recommended for that) is a common practice in the mining world. Heck, some people run like seven accounts while mining. I have no idea how, but they do it. ------------------------------- Sorry I stunk up the factory.

on the same account it is not possible, on multiple accounts yes - easy to do. best to run windowed [without sound I find but depends what you are doing], dual monitor systems works fine though a single monitor is possible - also more RAM is better 2Gb or more will help you can run the accounts from the same instance of eve so you don't need another copy of the game tree -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve & Blog

Right so lets see if I've got this right.
If I start up and start mining with this character i.e. "stevex33" I'm allowed to open another instance of eve with one of my alts, just as long as it's not "stevex33" again?
Makes perfect sense to me.

if the alt is on another account then yes it will work, if the alt is on the same account then no it will not work - the first instance will close -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve & Blog

you can log in on one account with one char. no more at a time if you however pay for two accounts, you can use one char on each at the same time. form same computer. Signature starts. Image gallery with some of the new ship models.

Ah I think I understand now.
1 account can have 3 characters, but none of those 3 characters can can be logged on at the same time, only 1, i.e. 1 character in use, 2 not in use.
However if I pay for another account I can have 2 charcters on at the same time as long as they are from seperate accounts?
Will this work with the game time cards that I've heard about?

Paying with ISK for GTC's is a common practice. Actually i'd find anyone playing EVE longer than a year AND STILL paying with cash a bit silly.

Eh I like paying with cash. I have more cash in rl (relative) then ISK in game. With 4 accounts, that would be about 500 mil isk per month to fund them. Instead, I pay with cash and have another 500 mil to play with in game. That buys quite a bit.. like a large POS a month, or 3-4 fleet BS, or what have you.
