Why does the typhoon cost so much more in terms of minerals to build than the other tier 1 bs, is there any reason for this? As far as bs go it is about on par with any other teir 1 bs when it comes to combat usefulness, so why is it that it costs so much more to construct?
(Scorp is second most expensive)

because one of them has to be the most expensive, if it wasn't the typhoon someone else would be on here complaining about a very insignificant issue.

I don't live in Empire, so I have no idea if you're referencing a marked up Jita price, or what here...
Markup aside, it's not significantly more expensive than the other tier 1s.

Simply not true. With domis going for 65m or so, typhoons range anywhere from 72-85 mil. Build cost is signifigantly more, mineral reqs are higher.

Again, I can't cite anything from empire.
In my drone region, a dominix costs 15% less than a typhoon to build. But even the typhoon is insurable to it's build cost plus the insurance premium... I fail to see the problem.

I've seen Domi's running around 50mills.
Typhooons: 67mills.
that's, what? a 34% price step from a dominix to a typhoon.
Now, lets face it, I know Minmatar ships are awesome and all, but I dont' think a typhoon is 34% better than a domi.

If you just look at the base price in the item database you can see a big price difference. The domi's base price (cheapest of the tier 1's) is 62.5m the typhoon's base price is 75m.
Obviously you can't use base price to determine cost due to varying mineral prices, but that alone should show you it costs substantially more.

Possibly because it is the most versatile of the Tier 1s and, with good skills, reputedly the best overall. It and the Armageddon have a slot advantage over the Domi and Scorp and its dronebay is larger than the 'geddon's.

it's just a racial difference, as has been said the apoc and abadd are more expensive than the tempest and maelstrom. It's not like it matters that much, the extra cost is covered in insurance and if the extra purchase cost really bothers you it's a good sign you're not rich enough to be buying the ship in the 1st place.
