tonight, this morning, this evening whatever time zone you are in, there was about 10-15k people dropped from TQ. i have checked our much love cluster and i can't see any problems so we do believe it's a problem with our ISP.
we are trying to get in contact with them now to find out what on earth they are doing and i will reveal all details once i have them.

ok, we have a 2nd ISP as a kinda backup as some of you probably know. it's provided by limelight. We have used them to host our patches etc and we have never really had a problem with them, which i believe was the reason for chosing them as an ISP.
we are looking to drop our primary ISP and move to limelight fully until our primary can start providing a stable service again.
more information as it comes.

Regatding this news item:
Quote: It seems that around 10.000 players just lost connection to the server. The cause of this is not known at this time but nothing indicates it's due to server side Proxy or node deaths.
around 0.20 AM EVE time I have lost connection and checking the rounte with pingplotter I did see that ae-0-51.mp1.Paris1.Level3.net was unreachable. From Italy it is a needed connection to reach EVE (and I think for a good crunk of Europe).

So any more news? I can't even connect, no matter a 'dropped' connection. Nice to see eve is continuing it's tradition of not working when I have a free night.

ISP connection problems affect your site functionality too? Cause lots of forum threads are not working, character page not working too... |

No :) That is bad routing/peering, there are many routes to go to the UK :)

Hi again CCP, this is one of your paying customers here. Er, I'd like the service I pay for, or some reason WHY I STILL CAN'T USE IT!
Is it really that much to ask?

Hey shark, can I borrow that nerf bat for a sec?
I would add that I lost connection to the internet entirely, twice! for about 5 minutes each time.
I live in the south east of England and my ISP has servers in london also. Dunno if this is connected or just my PC suffering withdrawal symptoms from Eve.
It's back on now so it's all good. I originally thought it was MY ISP being er... less than straight? anyways, meh! |

So using Monty Python logic... since Eve is down when you have a night off.... Get back to work so the rest of us can play.

The crashfest (I personally was disconnected 5 times, as was a corpmate I was travelling with) started just as a Goon gang was forming up on the opposite site of the gate of a BoB gang. At least 3/4 of the gang was dropped at some point, and from what I gather the same thing happened to most of the BoB fleet...the big fight never really happened, I guess, I logged a while after that.

Last night ( ~2200EST, US) i was experienced disconnects a lot and several other general connection issues, almost every 10-15 min. BUT, i only noticed it in The Forge/Jita. As soon as i left The Forge, all connection issues stopped.

I did a trace route as the dropping was happening, and the trace led to Limelight in London then dropped. I couldn't even get to the website.
After a while things smoothed out and I did a trace route again, Limelight was nowhere to be seen, Level 13 carried me to London, and then in an amazing 2 jumps from London I banged into CCP's server. How the heck do you get from London to Reykjavik in two jumps? Hell it takes me 4 jumps to go 30 miles here.
