We have a guy who likes to hang around us in a well tanked mael, sitting outside our station. If something like a HAC undocks he immedietely engages, and will merely tank for a minute if anything bigger undocks. This means we need to have a huge number of battleships to bring him down.
Conversations with this gentlemen ussually go along the lines of him complaining that we always blob, but hey, what else are we meant to do? Should the agression time before you can dock be longer? In my opinion the jumping timer is fine as you can always et tem on the other side. Anyway discuss.

problem is if it was longer then all ppl would do is get someone to engage at a station then bring in a blob to kill them. it would happen all the time and would really get annoying and ppl would hardly ever engage at a station.
It would also be a little annoying if you just wanted to test ur tank from a corpmate and had to wait ages to dock again.
It is annoying when ppl do that but just leave him to sit there and be bored if i were u. either that or get him to agress a hac or something and then undock a phoenix with doulbe web and web drones and triple painters or something and watch him get 1-2 vollied

Is this taking place in Genesis? This behavior and conversations sound too much like the idiots we are currently fighting. Bumping them didnŠt really work, we just had to wait for them to get a blob together, and even then weŠd only kill the primary before the rest undocked. Yes, I think the 1 minute timer is ridiculous. 5 minutes if he aggroed FIRST should be more reasonable. If he aggroed in defense, then I guess 1 minute should be OK. But the current situation with 1 min timer/dock/undock immediately with cap and shields full, is just pathetic.

it seems to me you should choose to fight or dock, not have the luxury of both.

Hey Kehmor,
For all of you wondering: the pilot in question is me
Now for my defence: I and some of my corpmembers at least make things more interesting for you right
There is only so much you can do if you are there solo or with a total gang of 2, and you guys are with 4. I never complained about your blobbing. I just found it amusing to be the one who attacks, get blobbed, and live long enough to make a safe entry back in the station.
I don't blob, complain or smack, I keep it civil at all times Now how many pilots are still out there that does that
The timer is grate and shouldn't be changed tbh. It happens to often that 1 is baiting and then a blob or carrier comes out (yes I already had a carrier on me in Maelstrom).
And last time we met you weren't too worried to use it yourselfe

my arguement is that you should do your homework. Bait should be a risk, and with improved hitpoints and tanks these days that risk is greatly reduced.

It's a total catch 22 situation. They are forced to blob because they can't kill you in time with 1 or 2 ships and you don't want to leave insta dock because they blob.

Have you tried bumping him of the docking point? - we had some bloke undocking in a mega taking a few shots and docking, then saying how smart he's was in local. He wasn't a happy camper when the 2 mwd canes pushed him 8km off the station.

our station is pretty difficult to do that with, no where to take a really decent run up from.

Ok let me lay down the situation from my point of view:
1: i don't want to bait, i actually want to destroy your ships 2: I know i will be outnumbered so before i try and go for the kills, i position myself in a very hard to bump position. 3: still i want to try and kill ships of you and your corpmembers, so i choose a single target that i could take on and attack. 4: the target ususally docks/undocks (fine by me i'll keep trying) 5: the other members in that station undock or are already outside and try to kill me in return for my attempts.
Now that basicly is the situation, from my point of view, and considering the "station games" from the past you would have to agree that i am not baiting. I just accept the situation i will be fighting in, and use the situation as best as possible. So no baiting, just fighting as smart as possible
I actually try to get kills, and get them just outside your main station (not very smart i know, but hey at least i try and so far it has gone ok). So basicly the me baiting and just sitting out timer when i get into the multi vs 1 situation ain't really valid imo.
But just to make it clear: i am not angry/smacking/trying to look like a victim. I just explained my opinion and my view of the story.
I am not using the baiting and then 1 minute timer as abuse. The timer is perfect as you guys did get me to take around 300 structure damage last time in my maelstrom. I try to kill you outside your main station, i am outnumbered, still willing to take the risk, and if you guys try to kill me with multiple ships (which i usually see comming in time) i unagress, sit out timer and dock.

Dutch a single ship couldn't kill you is the problem. As soon as you start going down you'll just disengage.

The solution is target painters, blasters, pulse lasers, and sentry drones.
With a trap of about 4-6 battleships you shouldn't have much problem taken him down in about 30 seconds. ------------------------------- -If you're going through Hell... Keep going.- |

I think it should be longer, like 5mins at the station that saw you agress and the current timer if the station didnt see it.
As it is currently a gang of six would not have enough time to kill a lone bs, and thats wrong tbh.

There is one good solution to this situation, though it will seem like overkill. Bait him with a well-tanked HAC or whatever he likes to shoot at, then undock a dreadnought and some support with painters and webs.
Really, a few ships should be able to take him out within 60 seconds if you plan it well. You don't need the game rules changed.

What about just making it so that the undock point is 15km away from the station now. Keep the timer the same but change where you undock.
I know this would make empire wars more fun, also doesn't have to be 15km maybe just 5km.
I know this doesn't stop the OP's problem as the Maestrom is already positioned but if the Maelstrom undocks again it might be more fair.

see this rens a lot , theres a couple of corps do it , usually in domis . they station hug , attack easy war targets , if shot at simply dock.
watched 1 incident with a pilot in a corp that seems to be all ex goons. he would launch take fire by 5 bs then dock , launch again , keep repeating while all the time flooding local with kiddie smack talk . The image he generated with all this docking/relaunching was of a really fat guy with a turtlehead running for public lavatories, the funniest part of this incident was that 20 minutes later I passed thru rens again , looking for war targets , to see this pilot alone , the 5 bs shooting him nowhere to be seen , domi pilot loudly proclaiming to a mate in local that he had solo killed all 6 of the 5 bs that were shooting him :-) . ( guess the moral is only dial 911 in rens if you want a fat guy with a turtlehead )
scanned him , nos/neuts in highs , triple larII in lows , large + med injectors in meds . whole corp seems to run similar setups use same tactics . other tactic I have seen them use is to get other pilots ( goons ) to remote rep them during the `fights` . This causes the repper to become shootable but as repping does not create an aggro timer thay can instadock.

further undock ranges would be fine providing you could scan the outside of the station prior to undocking.

This happens for us a lot as well mate, to be honest they need to make undocking throw you out at speed so that you're at least 10km from docking range once you commit to coming outside to play.

agreed. station camping would be massive in every busy station if u had no warning about ppl outside but i agree that once u commit to undocking into hostiles, your ship should be in danger whereas with so many station u can undock into a 200 man fleet and quite happily dock again 30 seconds later.
