Hi all, First, I hope this makes sense. Second, if it's been discussed before, sorry!
Is there a way to set the overview settings so a color would identify the type of ship you see? For example, I'm running a mission and I know that a frigate triggers spawns. I want to be able to identify that ship type right away. Could I set one color for frigates, another for BC's another for BS's, etc? I looked at the overview settings and see where you can set back ground colors for pilots (security settings and the like) but I didn't see any thing where I could do the same for ships. Thanks, Vasers

Afraid not. The closest you can get is to turn icons on that will help but doesn't distinguish well between cruisers and bcs.

the closest thing you can do is, form a gang, enable the tag-column in the overview setting. then you can tag the npcs with letters or numbers.

i wish the squad commander could tag items. it looks like many gang functions while in a fleet are reserved for the fleet commander alone. but most gang operations for missions have just a single squad.
it would be nice if i could warp my squad to the mission area without having to be fleet commander first.
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |
Overview shows ship types on test, or did, not sure if it still does.
The quickest way I identify ship class (and you can actually identify the actual ship type) is from its size...you can show size in over view.
not colours (as those above have said) but as a proxy....
overview settings -> filters -> select ONLY frigates [insert ship want to see here]
save overview setting as 'view [ship type]'
switch between them to get desired view
its a pretty standard way of setting up your overivew for fleet fights..it might help you find a work round
