How do you use Cap Boosters?
It says they are used with a launcher group which doesn't really give me much insight.

You're talking about the blue battery type things? If so, you need to find some booster charges, they look like blue AA batteries (hope that makes sense), the type you put in remote controls for tvs. Treat them like ammo or laser crystals for the module itself.

If what you have is "Cap Booster X", X being a number, then you need a somesizeorother Capacitor Booster I (or II, if/when it's out) to put them in.
If what you have is the somesizeorother Capacitor Booster I, then you need some units of Cap Booster X to fill it with. They work on the same principle as hybrid/projectile guns.. "firing" one charge will drop a chunk of power into your capacitor.
The charges (Cap Booster 25,50,100etc.) are found on the market>>items>>ship equipment>>ammo&charges>>boosters .. or something like boosters.
The Booster units themselves are under sensors&electronics, i think.

Sorry that still leaves me clueless.
What bit of equipment do I load the the boosters into? Is it a gun itself? I tried that but it does not appear as ammo, is it a mid slot? what? I literally have stacks of capacitor boosters lying around and I thought I may as well figure out how they are used.

Cap Booster "launchers" are mid-slots
They look like a single big blue battery and are called "* Capacitator Booster I" with * being Heavy, Medium, Small etc.
