To maximize your gangs fleet commanders need to train all leadership skills to their max for full benifis across the whole fleet. Thats fine by me, except one little problme. Warfare mindlinks, you can only fit one. Is this working as intended or is it a hold over from the old gang system. Where if i had 4 people in gang each with 1 leadershp skill maxed and the mindlink then our gang would get the full benifit of all the maxed skills.
Now a fleet can enjoy only up to 3 at best, FC > WC > SC and thats only at the squad level.

Mind links are implants not gang modules. And last I checked they all used the same slot.

so far I've seen it work like this:
fc may or may not give out gang bonuses if he does it's a general bonus that helps everyone.
wc is usually most important for giving out bonuses, will have a fleet command ship specialized in one area with best skills and stuff they can get. Everyone in that wing is getting the bonus type they need most (a mimatar command ship with implant for a tackler wing).
SC usualy just needs Leadership 5 to let the bonuses filter down.
what I'd love to see is a role similar to scout for giving out gang bonuses. have a limit to 4 or maybe less, depending on how hard u want to make it (possibly a skill for the fc to control how many he can have). their bonuses would effect the whole fleet as long as the person has bonuses filtering down from highest command.

Getting the full benefit of all the maxed skills with all kinds of mindlinks in the gang always seemed sort of overpowered to me. It's one of those things that, over time, will become something everyone needs to have to compete. With the current system, only gang leaders will train for them. Gunners, tankers, tacklers and bait need not worry about another skill that's staple but no fun (think Learning and such).
So, in short, I would say the current situation is a decent rebalancing of the mindlinks.

Do you mean that you 'only' have : -FC with an information warfare link -WC1 with an armored warfare link (this wing for armor tankers) -SC1-1 with a skirmish warfare link ->squad members of 1-1 gets information & armored & skirmish bonus? -WC2 with a siege warfare link (this wing for shield tankers) -SC2-1 with a skirmish warfare link ->squad members of 2-1 gets information & siege & skirmish bonus?
Or does the squad members only get the bonus of information and others are useless? If it's working like in my example, I don't see what's wrong. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! Yes thats correct. Under the old gang system if we had each member specialize in one mind link then the whole gang got the benefits of each.

Ok, that makes spend much time to prepare the gang, while before the patch, you pack everyone and get all bonuses. I think it was a bit overpowered before.
Still, I don't have a fleet commander around, so I shall only have two bonus stacked, and that's if we can get two people with warfare links...
