You could try 5 hardeners, 2 shield amps and a xlarge shield booster.
Throw on 4 siege launchers and 2 425mm's or 1400mm's.

There aren't 5 different (damage) types. Check your resistances, check what damage type different types of weapons do, and experiment. The only way there is to learn

I disagree, because the Invulnerability Fields suck cap like hungry babies suck milk.
If you're going to put in five, go for:
2 EM (your shields have 0% resistance to it) 2 Thermal (your shields have low resistance to it, and it's the most common damage type) 1 Kinetic (also quite common)

I take it from their description that shield Hardners do not stack fully, so what percentage does stack? Is it worth it?

2 EM, 2 Thermal, 1 Kinetic gives shield resistance of 68.8% EM, 78.8% Thermal, 70% kinetic, 60% explosive, as far as I can remember.

Bring some common sense.
Don't attack a bunch of battleships alone.

Ive been a scorpion pilot for a while.
From personal experience, its more of a fleet ship than a solo ship. People say its the best 1v1 ship, which may be true for ganking/killing cruisers, sure 1v1 u can jam the other ship but u wont kill a half tanked battleship in a scorp, i find they have enough cap to keep up with the shield.
As u can see 2 EM's, a Kinetic and a 2 Thermals is a popular tanking method and works, toghether with an XL and shield amp. IF u want to use EW, u either jam the ship or u wont last very long. In a fleet the scorp is alot more useful with EW, as tanked up is pretty much a waste when u do less damage than a tanked apoc/raven. If u use EW and dont use hardners, expect to warp out after about 20 seconds of being fire at by another battleship. Also its always very handy to carry a warp core stab in one of your low slots, can mean the difference between life and death, (Right Soth :D)

Aha. Do weapon mods stack also? Whenever I load one and check thre damage mod and then load fourand check the damage mod, the info screen shows the same reading for both. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Weapon Upgrade modules suffer the stacking nerf also :(

But does fitting 2 damage mods give you even a little extra damage?

Yeah - I wouldn't fit more than 3 dmg mods, tbh.

Hmmm... as a Scorpion pilot wandering around mostly in Empire space, the numbers would appear to suggest that there is little point upgrading to a Raven (a small amount of extra defense, not enough power grid for four guns, one extra low slot, slightly smaller/targets faster, just as slow as the Scorp).
However, as the numbers are not always entire indicative, is there any non-numeric reason for shelling out the 100 million plus for the upgrade? Note that I use missiles as a backup, as most of the time I am wandering around doing agent missions, and guns are much more efficient.
The above will have to be re-assessed when Caldari have the threat of battleships to deal with, so if anyone has tried the harder Gurristas comments are welcomed.
