I get blooming aggravated when I’m fitting out a ship, and don’t have enough power for a 250mm Railgun, and I’m then stuck using a lame dual 150mm, and with quite a bit of wasted powergrid left. (I assume there is a similar situation for battleship pilots as well, with Dual 250’s and 425’s.) And this situation has happened to me far more times than I care to remember.
There is a seemingly obvious space where there should be another railgun, but there isn’t one there. So that’s why I’m asking, where are the 2x damage mod 200mm and 350mm Railguns? (These names are made up, but they fit the gaps.) The frigates have this in-between railgun, so why don’t cruisers and battleships have them too?
If I was an npc weapons developer in EVE, I would have spotted this obvious gap in the weapons market, developed suitable weaponry to fill this gap – the cruiser size 200mm railgun and the battleship sized 350mm railgun – and then reaped in the profits.
So what’s the answer, TomB? And can you please address this problem, by putting them in EVE?

I think many people would rejoice if there were medium and large versions of the 125mm .. its a very classy frigate weapon as is and sadly lacking in the bigger categorys

I sincerely wish I could freshen up my thorax with a 200mm railgun. Many times I've complained my my CEO "yo fresh, whassup with the lack of blingtacular 200mm Railguns?" His response has been less then enthusiastic.

More hybrids would be nice. A 550mm Railgun would be nice too, yanno, something akin to tachyons and 1400mm howitzers.
Hybrids lack a "big punch" turret.
It's either super close range fast ROF/dmg blasters, or average range, average damage railguns, with moderate cap usage.
I heard some talk about splitting hybrids to making blasters "plasma" weapons and railguns would stay with the hybrid tag.
That might not be a bad idea.

I think ur rite about that. From what I gather, graviton physics is railgun tech and plasma physics is blaster tech. So by researching graviton phys you can get a railgun BP and plasma phys gives you blaster BPs

a prototype 150 is just the looted version of an 150 - they exist for all weapons .. try an prototype 125 for cool :)
