Ok i know this has been discussed again and again but pls HELP!!!!
I have a Vista pc which runs eve perfectly most of the time, but every now and then it boots me and I get Status Unknown for hours and hours. Sometimes it does it right from start-up. My friends xp pc (right nxt to mine) uses the same router and works perfectly. Evemon sees the server and no of pilots connected - really annoying. The test server can be seen and accessed. I have cleared my cache and allowed eve through the firewall.
Can anyone help please, i may go mad if i have another free evening when i can't get on
What is really annoying is that Eve works perfectly 99% of the time |

I've had this several times on XP. You will refresh and resfesh and it will just say 'Status: Unknown'. Exiting the Eve loader and restarting it fixed this everytime though.
If that doesn't work in this case, then afraid I have no other ideas :(

If you are using the Vista firewall your problem lies there. Allowing the eve.exe file to pass may not be enough. In settings for the firewall, give the e.xe file full rights with no restrictions. Even try to set up its own 'exception' rights. The best thing to do is to get rid of vista firewall and find something like ZoneAlarm Pro or similer as your firewall.
Good luck ----------------------------------------------- perhaps you confused me with someone who actually gives a funk?

Thanks for the replies
I have tried closing and re-opening with no benefit. I have tried re booting my computer and router. I have also turned off all internet security/firewalls and everything else I could think of when the problem occurs.
Any other ideas anyone?
....maybe Eve is not yet 100% compatible with Vista yet or is just real screwy??
