Edited by: Patch86 on 05/06/2007 16:31:48 You have to use a compatibility layer for it, I'm afraid. No native client.
Crossover have just announced official support for EVE. --------

IIRC, you have to run a Windows emulator on your Mac, and then you can run it... lol ------------------

Compatibility layer, not emulator. Very big difference.
You need an emulator if you're on a PowerPC mac, and since emulators are incredibly slow, you're out of luck in that case.
On an Intelmac, use Bootcamp or Crossover.

Doesn't eve run normaly like it does on a PC on a macbook/macbook pro via bootcamp? When you boot XP natively.

and virtualPC on those above, but i dont think that they provide enough calculation Power to run eve ... Had one of those earlier, was enough to get CnC:Red Alert to run on an old 100 MHz 7500 PPC Processor.

This thread exists elsewhere.
Basically, it is possible now with Crossover though YMMV. It has always been possible with BootCamp and booting into Windows, but then you're not running it on a Mac, really. _____________________________________

Crossover have just announced official support for EVE.
According to this, support could be hit or miss.
Also, Parallels Desktop 3.0 may be helpful, since they are promising 3D hardware acceleration.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that EVE runs better on Linux under the open-source Wine software than it does on Mac (commercial OS) under Crossover (a proprietary fork of Wine)? --------
