Are you in the need of a large fleetship with the need of hauling large amounts of posfuel or have heavy logistics for your fleet engagements? Carrier.
Will you even consider going solo in this new ship of yours? Commandship.

personally id go for carrier, they have many many uses whereas command ships only have afew with the command ship nerf coming in Rev 2... what can i say, im a command ship pilot and i now wish id trained carrier/dread, spending nearly a year on a set of skills to have it nerfed is not a nice feeling, go for carrier hands down.

What command ship nerf? They are scarcely any better than the tier 2 BCs as it is there is no way CCP can be nerfing them.
CFW (Certified Forum Warrior) I kill people ingame too.

The only CS to be nerfed are the caldari ones, which are the worst anyway. Why train for a vulture when you can train for a astarte....no brainer
As to the OP... carrier if in gangs > 50, CS is smaller stuff. Where do you spend your time?

the Vulture is a fleet command ship and the Astarte is a field command ship, both have different roles on the battlefield, why train Astarte if you fly with Caldari pilots and want to give shield based bonuses....no brainer... anyway back on topic.

Yup, whereas Caldari are generally considered to be not the best commands for killing things (field) their fleet command is easily the best because it does what a fleet command should do, tank like a mofo using no cap to do so and give bonuses all the while.

Apparently, you haven't thought this through.
Passive tanked ships don't run multiple 5cap/s gang mods for very long.

The Nighthawk with 2 CCC II rigs runs 3 gang mods fine with a passive tank. It dips to about half cap, but never is unsustainable.

Edited by: Xequecal on 05/06/2007 23:02:00 But why would you want to do that? You can use cap flux coils to power an active tank and tank significantly more DPS, and it's also fully sustainable. If you're willing to buy CCC II rigs you might as well active tank off an X-type large booster and CCC I rigs.

a Nighthawk can't run 3 gang mods can it? and if you were going to run 3 why not use the Vulture which is specifically made for gang mods?

My 'n' and 'b' keys stopped working for some random reason, better now. Anyways I haven't run into any real trouble running 3 gang mods so far, I run a passive tank all the way with 1 CPR and 2 CCC rigs. Until I hit nos of course.
Vulture would be better actually, and probably has a better tank

The idea of my passive tank is to be nos resistant. Active tanks are pathetically susceptible to nos, and running 3 gang mods you will cap out quickly anyways.
Passive suits my needs quite well.
