It seems to me that the gang interface in the overview windows is missing what would be an extremely useful feature, a ready or status green/red button that allows the FC to get the status of his gang members without having to use chat.
The system might work something like this: 1. FC asks on Vent/TS/EVE voice or in chat if his gang is ready to warp/jump/etc. 2. Gang members click on a "ready" button(like the in position button) 3. A green or red status icon appears next to the gang members that hit the button.
System could reduce alot of the confusion in preparation for a large fleet action.
Any thoughts?

I like it. It would be an elegant replacement for the "x in gang chat if..." system we use today.

although I like the idea of a manual status indicator, I don't know if the overview is necessarily the best place to put it. I don't have a good solution for it, but perhaps in gang chat on the member icons?????? ------------------- Brainstorm ideas to make EVE better:->http://eve.stormingbrains.org/index.php

Make this an option per channel, not just in gang. (Like Eve-Voice) this way anyone that wants a gang invite in corp could simply put "ready / not ready" (heck I'd like to see an AFK feature too for people not at their keyboard to be displayed in their "char info" to see if they have touched their keyboard in the last 20 minutes.

id make it so their entire "slot" in the window went green until all were green, then maybe have a flash+15second fadeout. and allow the squad/wing/fleet commander to clear current readiness with a click.

Yeah, that's good. Make it a little icon in the gang/squad chat window, on your portrait instead of the overview.

For fleet movement you can just use the 'in position' broadcast.
I would much rather be able to 'approach' a distant gate to make alignment faster.

How about a simple 'allign group' button? Similar to the regroup button, but directs the fleet toward the selected target. That would greatly reduce the insane camera spinning to find that gate buried behind 10 planets, stations, star, et al.

What I originally envisioned was a status light next to the characters name in the fleet window (next to the fleet members name) that would let you know if everyone is ready without sorting through all of the fleet messages or gang chats. This would make it so people would not have to keep track of who was ready in their head.

Has anyone else noticed the Devs have been more publicly active recently?

I thought this thread was gonna be about a "red alert" feature. Is it? I can't figure out the thread.
