Yes. I promotes people actually working and interacting to find who their competitors are.

I've seen it said that the market was designed so that nobody could avoid a specific player's sale orders, which is why it's anonymous and one of several reasons why when you buy it comes from the cheapest sale order. -----

Also prevents money laundering .
Problems is you can still do it via contracts.

I can get heaps of 1 unit sales, I'm probably then parsed through a locator agent to figure out if I'm a trader account or just someone trying to make a buck.
( FYI, Just trying to make a buck on loot, no mass production lines in operation ). ______________________________

True, but you still canŠt see who you are buying from before you actually make the transaction :)

Why can't contracts go back to being anonymous too? At least let there be an option to disclose or not.

Because there was no rick for the reward of scamming and at least now you run the "risk" of people blocking all contracts from you if you are a scammer.
As people are so fond of saying there should be greater rewards for greater risks and this introduces a risjk for contract scammers. Much like suicide gankers present a risk to the starter corp freighters.
There is no free luch in eve (unless of course you have a tech2 BPO).

What does one have to do with the other, scamming is still very much possible and you can still block someones contracts should you not like them. What I'm asking for is some discretion for courier missions, the runner need not know for whom they're delivering.

If you're really concerned about them finding out what your main's delivery needs are, use an alt.
