What makes an idividual you have been playing with for 5-6 months steal? Or claim that they were owed? I am looking for some feedback here.
I try to look at everything from two views. One view would be mine the CEO and the other in this case would be the employee that left and took things. What goes through their mind?
Here is my view. If I wanted to leave a corp on good terms, I would talk to the CEO, knowing him for 5 months you would think that the CEO would be understanding about your wanting to leave, you would then negotiate a termination package (golden parachute). Right?
Here is what happened to me, Log on find the emails that people have left. Check corp wallet find $55 mill missing, check hanger find 30K in zydrine gone 2500 in mega, 60K in Nocx and 90K in Iso, all my Tech II build items, except the water and slaves and oxygen.
Not sure what else, those are the noticeable items.
What would you do? I confront the individual. He says yes I took the $15 Mill I donated to corp, ok. I guess that is ok. I ask did you take anything else, the response was No. (That is when I checked the hangers)
Another individual took the $40Mill, but was going to return all of it after speaking with him. I told him to keep half and that is cool. Just please ask or talk to me.
Well I feel like an employee at Enron or Tyco, and I just got F'd. I am always willing to give someone a shot, and trust people because I believe you treat the people they way you want to be treated. (That is the carebear in me)
I feel burned. I feel betrayed. My fault? Maybe, never trust anyone, I guess.
SO being kicked out of FE and having "friends"
turn on me directors turn on me, what would you do? I am a trooper. Life is hard. I know people make mistakes, I certainly have and I own up to them in my opinion.
So, without checking my grammer. What do you all think?

Im sorry for u crice, u always seem to be a mature and polite guy when i speak to u ingame.
Like u said, maybe u got in with the wrong crowd.
Stealing from ppl that trust u is wrong, be it in real life or in a game.
EVE is a selfish game most of the time..

Corp theives are scum. This has happened to many other corps, and I imagine it will continue to happen. CCP say its part of the game and in a way I agree, but there is no single other element of the game liable to cause people to quit than having everything you own taken away.
KIA have an alternative, we have the telephone number and address of our trusted members. If they decide to steal it, we go pay them a visit. Its worked so far

Only 2 certain things in life Death and Taxes. Everything else well .....
5 to 6 months thats nasty, I have known the peeps in my corp that long and it would be a kick if one of them did something similar.

corp theft is a hard one it generally sucks all around
my small corp had one lost about all the stuff we give to our guys to fight not exoensive stuff but its a pain when you have no spats left and have to go buy some to fight...ours happened on patch day

tough break, but I wouldn't take it too personal. For me its a sign that for the thieves this is only is a game, and that is how they play it.

Look at it on the bright side Crice.
You are now disassociate with people that don't regard you as a friend. Yes it's disappointing, but the way I see it, I'd rather someone nicked some ingame items from me, and I know who I can trust.
I'd rather be poor and surrounded by friends and people I can trust, than rich and surrounded by people that would turn and steal from me at the first chance they got.
This game isn't about money or power for me, it's about playing with my friends, and having a laugh.

Just wanted to say that I understand how you feel. Personally, I hate thieves...either in game or in real life. The thing that all thieves are missing is simple. They are not concerned with something called reputation. Also, as in real life...there are people that simply do not care about other people, or how they treat others.
Ironic, that these people are often the first ones to scream foul when they percieve their own rights trampled upon.
There will always be those who would rather steal, than work hard for that which they want. These people are thankfully the minority in the world.
And about the member who took back isk which he previously "donated" is wrong as well. If it was donated...then how does stealing it on the way out make it ok? Your either donating it or not...that member needs to learn how read a dictionary.
Anywho...I run a small corp and I have to say that I understand how hard it is to amass anything in this new eden. To me...your losses are very large indeed...and for that I feel sorry for you. I would like to wish the best for you and your corp in the future. You are better off without these dishonorable members tainting your pool.

When myself and my two corp collegues were corp robbed in our previous corp, almost 6 months ago I was pretty devastated.

Sorry but...
Crice are, or were a pirate corp? Or pirate corp suppliers?
What's the difference between ganking someone and stealing their cargo and just robbing the hangar?
In my mind corp theft is just piracy without the PvP.
If you want to play at pirates, then remember this...
There is NO honour among theives.
I know that expression is as old as the hills, but it has survived for a reason.
Yeah it sucks to be robbed and like most have said, it is the WORST thing that can happen to you.
A close second is being ganked by BS driving pirate, especially if you aren't rich enough to easily replace your loss.
So not much sympathy for the poor pirates from me I'm afraid.
To paraphrase the old pirate axiom....
If you can't afford to have it stolen then don't give people hangar access or account info.

I have friends and I have friends within Eve...... there is a difference .....
Friend (1) Helps in the game, talks about your weekends etc etc etc this is what I class as a personal friend and they "should never" steal from you "no matter" !!!
Friend (2)A spy, a thief, someone who uses tactics to get to a position of trust ... then corporation theft is then, just warfare ....
I know is difficult and we all have our own views but "I personally" feel there is a "fine difference" but a difference indeed.

Yeah I agree with you 100% Mongo on the friend/personal friend thing.
Problem is a smart spy/thief will soon put you at your ease and chat about other stuff such as "what you did at the weekend". All part of their long term plans to get what they want from you, either in theft or information or swapping side mid-battle to sow confusion.
/shrug
Not much you can do to defend against it, other than only have RL friends in the corp.
Just try and treat it like you would a couple of ship losses....either get revenge or shrug and move on.

Sorry to hear about the theft Crice. It happened to me twice already in eve and I vowed not to let it happened to me again. I love my corpmates and I trust them 99%, but the 1% in me holds on to my original BPs and I only donate the BPCs to the corp. to use. This way if for any reasons the corp. gets ripped off, I still have my originals to make more copies for the corp. or myself. I strongly advise all CEOÆs to grab the originals and throw them in their own hanger, then make copies for the corp. hangers. Access to isk should only be allowed to the CEO. Period. If isk is needed, then CEO can transfer it to the individual. And for the guys that left, itÆs a small price to pay to learn someoneÆs true character or lack of. They will get whatÆs coming to them sooner or later. Hang in there and if you need anything, feel free to contact me or any of my corpmates. We will gladly help out a fellow corp. theft victim. Peace.
