I really wonder what people like you mean by "it is just a game". If I rob the account of my football team, I have to face the consequences. Either by my team mates or by officials. It won't help to say "come on, it is just a game". It is a flaw of EVE Online that CCP either cannot fix or is not willing to, that people like you can do what you did, without facing serious consequences.
I am in STK for just 1 week now. I didn't mine for the stuff you destroyed. I didn't put in time for the projects you cancelled. If I were you, I would be very happy if noone, that you just massivly stabbed in the back, knows where you live and does not accept an argument like "it is just a game" as excuse for being a thief.
Even if your accusations are/were true, that is no justification for your actions. |

Really the idea of anyone in STK being a BoB alt, especially Helene is just insane. I can't see where anyone would get such a ridiculous idea. Its this kinda of baseless speculation, which has to stop if COAD is to become worth posting in again.

Ok, so I choose to spend my limited leisure time to play a make believe spaceship game. I spend hours slaving over my mining barge, or doing countless jumps moving stuff around so I can make pretend spaceships. At the end of all this I have some make believe assets that, for me, represtent the product of all that time.
Or, I decide to spend my limited leisure time to work hours of overtime. I take all the extra money I have made and buy something shiny.
Now, If some pikey, theiving, scum of the earth, lowlife ****er decides to steal either of them please explain why I should value one above the other. In both instances I have spent my time to get somthing, which the ******** has taken.
You Sir are scum, you are the bottom feeder of the human race, dung is too good for you to eat and you should be drowned in the urine of a thouand goats.

Aaah, right, you're comparing real life with a game. Let me see if I can answer this one...real life has real life consequences, and game only has virtual consequences. Does this really have to be explained and if so, please get help because your reality has been warped into one wrong life.

Why make the ships fly when we can just sit in the station and pretend to shoot people. Game mechanics are put in place to make the game fun and to protect the players, if you don't use them, YOU ARE PARTLY AT FAULT.
Saying that mismanagement is not a problem, then why have directors in the first place. They're there to protect the assets of the corp.
I think 100 B worth of assets is worth trying to lock down.

You are obviously incapable to see that it does not matter where people put their time into, either e.g. playing football, playing EVE, working double shifts to buy a better car, whatever. Seems as if you are the one to decide which is right and what is not. However I hope you are fine that I do not accept advise from you.

Again being stupid as hell. I acknowledge corp theft, infiltration, spying, etc. as part of the game, all fine. But there are no ways to punish you. CCP will do nothing. You will just sell your chars or play solo or join a corp who doesn't care. No way to sue you, no way to send you to prison, no way of any serious consequences as you deserve it.

Actually as an IT guy I am quite confident in asserting that a lot of the functionality in ths particular piece of software is there because "it was easier to do it this way", "it's the 80:20 rule", "oh! sh*t we never thought of that", or "oh dear - that is going to take an age to fix, sod it lets call it a feature" and not "put in place to make the game fun and to protect the players".
On to the crux of the matter though.
In games, in sport and in life there are many choices that people can make about how they conduct themselves. In all of those fields it is possible to lie, cheat, and hurt people. The morale argument is not "can I?" but "should I". It could be that CCP have indeed made a deliberate choice to leave the capability to do wrong in the game; it might be some compliated psycological experiment to establish what percentage of the population are scum; it might be that they think by giving people the chance to act like*****s in-game they might get it out of their system; or i might just be because it's easier that way.
which ever way you cut it, it is a morale choice, and you made the wrong one.

I have spent hundreds of US RL dollars, and literally weeks of my time working (not playing) to make progress for myself and my corp in this "game." As i figure it, you now owe me 4 months of your life outside of work. how would you care to pay? my RL services run $60/hour, and i spend between 4-6 hours a day playing... thats not cheap. Or who could mission ***** to make the isk to pay not only me, but every single member of stk restitution for your little stunt. You owe us all, and more than an apology, and again, you should be on your knees thanking every god anyone anywhere believes in that this planet is large enough to seperate us... First, my post from the very beginning mentions greed, I am not saying I'm not at fault. I took the stuff, no question.
It's like this, if I watch a baby crawling toward a fire, should I just let them do it, or put a gate to keep him from doing. Am I at fault if it enters the fire. Sure I am, because I could have done somehting that prevented it. That was not done here.
Second, it goes back to most people play games to escape reality and by doing so would do things in life that they normally would not do. That's part of playing a game, being able to act out something or someone that is not you. If this was real life, there are a lot things most people would never do, but do online.

Since you opened the RL pandora box...
I believe the large majority of people don't role play much in Eve.
I've never ever seen you try to role play anything while you were here.
Basically - I choose to not believe you've decided to role play a bad guy.
I believe you have showed us your "true face" - and let the dark side of your personality take over. Or said more straight forward: This would have affected my views on you personally if I knew you.

Nope, you didn't. More like you cut the arms off of the baby and left it, keeping the arms to sell to lowlifes.
Very true, games are supposed to allow things you can't usually do. However, what you do in games reflect your real life character. I hope people around you realize what sort of person you are, but also hope that you're better than what you've shown here. I have little hope though....

It's all very well to say that there are mechanics in game to prevent this sort of thing but it's not as open and shut as that. If a pilot has been a member of a corp for a long time and has earned the trust of the existing management then realistically there's very little the corp can do if that person decides to 'go bad' because he doesn't like what he's seeing, or as it seems to be in this case, because he fancies a change in career.
Star Wolf earned trust in STK and was given access to certain things. It's that trust that he has abused to steal the items he has done so. He's said in this thread that he's laughing at everyone. Well, that's the kind of person he's become, one who happily steals, tries to cover it up with the BS in the original post and then boasts and laughs about it.
Game mechanics can't protect against that. Game mechanics can protect against some theft, but not everything.
Star Wolf has claimed Helen is a BoB infiltrator, a claim that's been denied heavily in this thread. He claims Helen is manufacturing Capital ships for BoB. Funny that - All Capitals I'm aware of have gone internally to STK. Even the Aeon that Helen flew was destroyed by MC. This claim is utter garbage. If STK were making Capitals for BoB then surely it would be safer to do it in BoB space.
Star Wolf is proud of stopping our MS projects. These projects have cost billions and billions of ISK and taken months and months of hard work and dedication by very few dedicated people. I find it utterly repulsive that somebody can actually be proud of this and it shows what sort of a character that he actually is, although he's obviously a good actor as he has taken us all in for so long. He himself was a member of the team that did the work.
Star Wolf has claimed that STK has an open movement towards BoB but has been unable to show a single scrap of evidence supporting this. He's claimed he destroyed our Capital programme to stop more Capitals falling into BoB hands but has no evidence that any have already gone that way.
He is very fond of saying "it's only a game". That's correct but Joram has already covered that better than I can. I suggest people scroll back and read his post.
Star Wolf is a corp thief, it's as simple as that. He's stolen a lot but STK will recover from it. He's claimed to have stolen around one hundred billion ISK. I don't know how much exactly was taken, that may or may not be an accurate figure.
We're better off without him.
We stand united, you stand alone. --
