"Have you heard? Our ads werenĘt kidding, The Exiled really is bringing wealth to the Second Genesis community! We have increased the prize pool for the Gen Con Championship from $10,000 to $25,000, more than doubling the amount of cash being given to players. Those of you who havenĘt qualified for the Championship yet should either start demonstrating the game (in order to reach the 20 new players that earn you a spot) or check the Event Calendar for one of the four remaining Qualifiers. More of these will be going up soon!"
I checked the event calendar and saw a bunch of assorted tournaments, none near where I live (Chicago). I didn't see anything labeled qualifier. Can you qualify at gencon?

Your local qualifier was in April. Do not fret! You can still sign up to fill any empty places at Gen Con. Sign up early, I dont see that many spots being available :)

There are a few Qualifiers yet to be announced, as well as some qualifying events scheduled at Origins and Gen Con. In addition, if you demonstrate the game to twenty people, and have them sign up on the CCG site, you will also qualify for the Championship. Just have any new players fill out the forms found on the Agent Resources page, then send them in to me for verification (scan them and email, or just snail mail), and you'll be ready to go.

Thanks. A couple of follow up questions:
1) I assume you can't register for more than one qualifier?
2) Is the qualifier the standard constructed format (52 cards plus regions & starbases)?
3) Whats the deal with the inconsistency on the gencon excel doc and the gencon regular website? On one it says there are 64 person tourneys at 2pm on thursday and friday. One the other it says there are two 999 person tournaments. I'm hoping the second one is correct. Anyway, links:

You may attend as many Qualifiers as you wish. You have as many chances to qualify as the number of tournaments you can attend.

Yes, Qualifiers follow the standard constructed format.

The numbers there look accurate to me. Are you perhaps looking at the L5R qualifiers listed above ours on the website?
