To all the bears wondering how they agreed to be shot, I present you this. Exactly how it happened. Welcome to EVE.
Terms of Consent This section defines the conditions under which a person, gang or corporation consents to PVP Combat. Please note that in each instance there is an electronic "consent form".
Joining/Creating a Player Corporation: This is consent to having war declared upon the members of the corporation allowing hostile players to pay a fee to Concord to prevent interference from gate guns and police ships in High and Low-Sec. There is a "consent form" in the shape of a warning box when creating or joining a corp.
Leaving Hi-Sec: This is consent to involvment in PVP Combat for the entire duration spent in the region undocked. There is a "consent form" in the shape of a warning box upon the first entry and on each subsiquent entry until it is disabled.
Joining a Gang: This is consent to involvment in the wars of any members already in the gang, or subsiquently added, who are members of Player Corporations. It is also consent to the Gang Leader having control of your ships insystem FTL (Warp Drive) There is a "consent form" in the shape of a warning box that appears on each instance until disabled.
Can Flagging (Interacting with a Wreck or Jetcan which was not created by you, or a member of your Player Corporation / Alliance): This is consent to PVP Combat with any member(s) of the corporation who created the object for fifteen minutes duration after either the interaction or the end of Combat. There is a "consent form" in the shape of a warning box that appears each time this action is taken until it is disabled.
Undocking: By leaving the secure enviroment of a space station the player is consenting to attack from other players. This consent comes with a caviat that other players will be "Punished" with loss to their Security Status and the destruction of their ship should PVP Combat be initiated within High-Sec unless there are mitigating factors, described above. There is a consent form in the shape of a tutorial who's contents warn that There is a consent form in the shape of a tutorial who's contents warn that you are never safe while undocked. This form appears until disabled.

Edited by: Nanobotter Mk2 on 08/06/2007 06:01:42 CCP can write what ever the fark they want, it doesnt alter reality. CCP has ZERO authority to redefine terms no matter how much they try.
I will prove just how wrong you and your lame eula quote are along with hypocrisy of CCP. If you smart bomb noobies you can be banned, yet by CCP terms you done nothing wrong they consented to it.
Further more there is not need for ANY OF THE OTHER RULES, if they TRULY ment the rule on undocking is there?
Even more so their defintion of PVP is so myopic and incorrect because you can undertake pvp before you even undock simply by under cutting the other people selling the same thing as you..... PLayer vs player combat is alot more than pew pew someones ship, you can combat someone with military means or economic means.
LAstly These game dev's will write any nonsense in a eula it means nothing, it is just a big pile of steaming crap to try to protect them from any possible complaint so no matter what happens they are right you are wrong.
I'll bet the eula says you can;t buy in game stuff with real life money yet CCP promotes trading GTC's....
anyrate sorry CCP can write the moon is made of blue cheese all they want in a eula doesn;t make it correct :)

Don't worry kid, you'll get it soon enough. Give it a day or two. --------- EVE is like a box of chocolates.

He's been losing a debate to me about suicide ganking for days now. Nano, I wrote all that myself, thanks for telling me I look like a dev though.
Still, this one point. CCP runs EVE mate. Whatever they say pretty much goes. They own it, your character, all your character's ingame items and all the copyrights.
Then again, since you are so clearly opposed to them, and their PVP heavy game, why haven't you stopped payment on your subscription, contracted all your stuff to me and gone back to WOW, or more likely EQ Online, As I recall Sony has a great track record for trashing their games by listening to folks like you.

"CCP can write what ever the fark they want, it doesnt alter reality."
Some of us were rather under the impression that getting to define your own reality was the reason for playing a game.
Never mind the privilege conferred by being the creator...

Edited by: Ling Xiao on 08/06/2007 09:04:28 I was bored so I started scanning indys in Jita. It's shocking how many people carry hundreds of millions worth of goods in paper Iterons and similar Tech1 ships.
It's almost tempting enough for me to get in on that action __________ If you think the game is rigged, why are you still playing? |
