Ok, got a chance to try Eve on Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac, using a MacPro with a nvidia Geforce 7300 I was using the test version of Eve, I will give the my normal install another go later.
First picture was taken in convergence mode, unfortunately the 'directx' mouse was offset to the real mouse, making control very difficult. I found that Eve worked best set to fullscreen mode, this got rid of the mouse problem. There are a few rendering artifacts like the sun, and login progress bar, but framerate is good, sound works perfectly, overall a very good experience. Typical framerate was 25 to 100fps.

in windowed mode, to line up the Directx mouse with the real mouse, the window must be all the way in the top left corner of the Windows desktop. The directx mouse always acts as if that window is there, no matter where you place it on the windows desktop. IF you put it in the right place, or size the desktop to the same size as your window, the control issues go away, and you can use coherance.

Yea I enabled DirectX in the preferences, and it worked fine apart from the mouse issues, but once you get it into full screen mode your good to go.
I didn't do anything special. I was using 10.4.7 for that test, and I tried in under 10.4.9 and had the same results. I ran the directx installer in the bin folder and it made no difference to the rendering.
Maybe it has an issue with ATI graphics cards like the one in your iMac. Maybe updating to 10.4.9 could cure that if your not already running it. If your already running it, then I don't know.

Oh you have the nice iMac. Did the Parallels tools installer run through, and does you device manager give the all clear? No Yellow '!' marks?
