Edited by: Hul7 on 09/06/2007 11:33:11 If BoB takes over all of 0.0 and empire (which they announced is their plan) how will that affect CCP's business? Will the subscription rates and sales of the game go up? Will this be good for CCP's business?
Would the gamming community rename the game BOB-online? Would you still be playing if you had BoB as the owners of the space you lived in? Do you think it would be viable to have a "rebel base" which you could fight the evil BoB empire from? Or would such things be squashed on sight and never have a chance to develop?
I'm interested in hearing what your opinions are and what you predict will happen.

I think it would be pretty interesting to have guerilla fighter cell's makeing hit and run attacks against a massive corp like that. But then I'm a noob so what do i know?

I do not think BoB can possibly win eve, they might slowly spread their influence through a few other 0.0 systems, but I doubt they would be able to take over all of space. There are also some people who enjoy a challenge, and might find beating BoB back fun. Empire would pretty much be safe from BoB.
There are simply too many systems, and BoB wouldn't be able to field enough pilots to be able to guard 100% of the time, there are 5000 solar systems I think, or CCP use that number, not even GoonSwarm have enough pilots to have 1 pilot in each system, and thats if every player is online.

Its impossible for one party to controll all of 0.0...
Its human nature to seek the conflicts and there will always be people that don't agree on eachother.
I predict that BoB will take over all of 0.0 and then split up in 2 groups and fighting a neverending war.
but thats just me *shrugs*

It'll never happen. As long as there are individual alliances maintaining full moon coverage of critical systems, building dreadnought fleets in empire, and secretly building supercapital ships in backwater drone region systems BoB will never "win" EVE.
POS warfare is boring as heck anyways. The minute they meet stiff resistance they'll call off their assault and post a guff thread extolling their magnificent k/d ratio and claiming their opponents are now dead (remember SMASH?)

Okay doo, seriously.. That ****'ll never happen. First of all, if the BOB took over the 0.0 portion of my ghetto they'd have to deal with DR TRAN first. Second of all... Come on man - it'd be called, "COME-LOSE ONLINE" or "GET BLOWN UP-ONLINE" might be more catchy.. BOB-ONLINE would not pull subs.
Thridly, no one owns my space. No one can when you live in a puddle of sewer water somewhere in Vale. WAKE UP MAN! Snap the ****zles out of it! ------------------------------------------------

Goals work like this:
- if you cant achive them you give up and quit. - once goals are achived you have noting to look forward to or work towards.
so, if the plans are only status quo after goals are met... it will lead to a breakdown one way or another.
This is the way goal setting works in general btw. . |

They won't. They don't nearly have enough manpower to keep all of 0.0 under control. Even if they would get enough manpower, chances are some members are not gonna be happy with their policy, or whatever, and revolt. In any case, they will never, ever, control all of 0.0. It's impossible.

The day it happens and the mythical pop up window appears....
Game Over.. You Lose.. BoB has won Eve, all your base R belong to them.
The server closes down, CCP go back to being a small Icelandic company. The sky falls in. Sad times.
In 3 years of gameplay I have fought BoB once, was a fun afternoon and the world kept turning so who knows Eve's biggest alliance may only be a tiny percentage of the whole player base...

Bob has roughly 2.3k members. This is only a TINY percentage of the players in eve. It is not possible. They would require at LEAST 75% of the eve player base, 50% if it's *ALL* the most experienced. 50% is something like 50-100 THOUSAND people.
My prediction of BoB: Simply put, 'Rome'.

Then alliances become rather pointless, which to be fair is not a big loss. Think of it like 'what happens when the Mafia take over New York' - well they kind of did, and life just rolled on.

But that ain't happening any time soon. --------

The only time BoB could "win Eve", would be if everyone set them to blue. Or would that mean they lose since they wouldn't have anyone to shoot at?

With the new POS warfare coming out, BOB would need about 15 years to have sovereignty over all of 0.0....
Sad thing is, they were almost beaten, the coalition just lacked the SACK to push...

welol you could try considering EvE like a really long Deathmtach and when it's won it's restart time? I don't know
it will change EvE history that's for sure and a new gameplay feature will be making 10,000 corpserations to try to make a dent in 0.0

if bob takes over everything problems will start people will be baord arguments will start you will see the bob empire start to fall apart as people start to split then a large number will brake off to make there own alliance and it goes from there.
its human nature to destroy our selfs and the cycle of life continues
just my thought on what might happen

If BoB takes over all of 0.0 and also empire ( ), then the rest of the server population gets evacuated to jove space. It was always meant for that specific purpose.

Interestingly, most replies are from the unknowing, unrealistic, or not-grasping. Best advice I have to help you understand:
1. Move to 0.0 2. Join a non-Bob alliance in the route of Bob 3. When Bob shows up in their roaming fashion, stay and fight 4. Make your decision in the end, join Bob as the new slave corp and pay the stupid fees, move back to empire, or "say" you aren't going to do either, you are going to just keep fighting them (with isk coming in from....??) Ratting? no - can't do that - you're kos to the other new Bob slaves in the area. Mining... not in that 0.0 region any longer. Market trading there? Where you gonna dock? Last option: Pirating for ransom - in 0.0? uh... ok. Good luck with dat.
But again, to the point. It's insanely easy to stop Bob, but it takes a few of you to be ballsie. If you are in Bob (aka Slave corp) - in the region where Bob came thru, won, the left, simply STOP PAYING your fees and return to KOS mode to Bob members. For neighbor corps, work to get positive standings or better yet, get them to break away too and start your own small alliance. It seriously only takes a few corps in various regions (critical point) doing the same. This creates a multi-front war for Bob, moving their forces away from their primary movement point, interrupting the battle-tempo (critical). IF Bob chooses NOT to interrupt their tempo - fine, but the results are equally catastophic. Their financial / support based begins to fall apart and the fronts expand. End result: Now defenses against the momentum gain possibilities, and "freedom fighters" become empowered (and richer in the process). The next stage in the human-factor: The feeding-frenzy. Internal *****ing occurs and the natural attrition / splintering occurs - feeding mounting looses, wash-rinse-repeat.
i.e. The largest supporters of Bob are the actual enemies of Bob - corps once conquered, choosing slavery over some risk toward reward. The PERFECT time to do so is NOW, at the moment when Bob has "invited" way too many enemies into their camp, too many unwilling corps as members. ---------------------------------------------- Minmatar News Network (MNN) tm Your news source, covering violence and mayhem with compassion. |
