Ok, so there were 5 of us mining away in 0.3 space, you know doing the n00b thing, being Knaive.
What I want to know is this, WHY, do you need 4 battleships to kill 2 Industrials and a Thorax? (the 2 frigates got away) Was a bit crappy, but fair enough, it was a good experience at least.
Is it to do with fear of losing your battleship?

Perhaps they were just apssing through looking for prey in the battleships and spotted you. No point in switching to a weaker ship is there.

Maybe not, but in this case one of them turned up talked (what turned out to be bull**it) to us, went away, and came back with the other 3. They could have done it on their own, no problem. --'The Way is Shut'--

Why should they ?
Considre this.
You and your friends travle around not wanting to gang captains in JIP. You have been traveling from system to system to find someone to kill. When you set out you did not know if you would meet a great force of BS or two haulers. Thats why you fited your best ship for the hunt.
After X houers (probably a few) you finaly find some prays. You are lucky that its a week oponent wich ensure you no losses. After weeks hunting you know there is a smal chance the pray gets a way. So you attack with out talk and roleplay. Woyla you have a succsess.

I dont think there is such a thing as over kill, rather "making sure the job is done right"
to quote a line from tremors 2 (great movie)
"isnt that a little over kill"
"If you need it and dont have it youll be singing a different tune" I mean c'mon, just think about it. What would make more sense then the 3 most hated alliances teaming up to lay waste to the people they all hate anyways? CA is already allied with PA, and TPS lies between the two alliances. Natural allies to be sure. But it's not just that, all but PA (and even some of them) have adopted a "stfu and die, or come and fight us, we don't give a **** what you think or do" philosophy, as well as a PvP Kill everyone not friend kind of mentality. These are the people in eve that kill or convert, the ones dedicated to the death of others, because history, circumstance, and the rest of eve have driven then to do so (except TPS, who are just cool ass pirates ). |

All points taken on board, and when put like that it does make more sense. Still I hope u can also see mine, and that for someone new it did seem a bit unfair! (not to mention the fact that my insurance ran out 2 hours b4 it happened :(( - If you could pod insurance agents I would have loved to see it done by 10 battleships ;)) --'The Way is Shut'--

Clarce - ok - so your in .3 mining ?? Who was on lookout? I mean between the 4+ of you and your m8s - why didnt anyone keep an eye out on local channel?
If you see 4 new ships warp in system - it helps to see if they are all with the same corp & check on their security status. You see a bunch from the same corp - all with negative security - it might be time to get the f$#% out of there.

Yeah keep your eyes open. You're fair game to ANYONE in a 0.4 and below system while mining. I tend to trust no one...

Thats funny- it worked for us :D. 2 bships, 1 hauler mining away in .1 with nothing but drones. 6 cruisers warp in, i hit warp. My friend was a little late to the warp button, he got jammed. To make a long story short, our friend just so happened to be testing out his new typhoon at a nearby belt. 3x cruiser kills and a bunch of scared little people from the RP part of the game. Sure is fun to watch :D --

i would define overkill as killing just for killing. if you for example kill someone in a frigate who has nothing in his cargo just because its fun then i would call it overkill. ------------------------------------------------

Well sadly we werent in battleships, just 2 haulers, 2 frigates and 1 cruiser, no drones (no skill yet) :( Otherwise it may have been more of a 'fair' fight, and not so much 'overkill'?? --'The Way is Shut'--

Well needless to say, I doubt that this type of thing will happen again. Also, that the perps have got to know that an eye will be kept out for them. They had better just hope the opertunity to return the favor do not present itself until this memory has faded. |

Just don't expect fair. You don't get fair in online games, ever, in any. Only thing you need to remember is that it's a two way street.

Always keep focused on local and show info everyone you see. If you see 4 battleships showing up in the belt, doubleclick the sun. -------
