This is an image of something that appeared on the side of my ship randomly while flying towards an asteroid. It flashes on and off rapidly and only stays solid for a few seconds at at time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is? I'm intrigued.

It's a templar, an amarrian fighter drone....oh ok thats just not funny anymore.
Its a mining drone, and it looks like you got a GFX 'bug'

I've seen this before. When you use the system map from the general map (F10) thats how mining drones look like. I'd say something bugged up and it got stuck in normal view.

Someone is mining your ship.
Scream "RAAAPEE!!!" and concord will come shoot it off, along with a chunk of your hull probably.

The 'parasite' is a known graphical glitch with using mining drones that sometimes makes it appear like they're becoming intimate with your ship. You can see what they look like when actually doing their job on an asteroid here.

Weird, the exact same thing happened to me too. I was watching a mining op in my Arazu, cloaked, and when I uncloaked after warping there was a mining drone stuck to my ship!

this was actually a bug from about 4 years ago, it wasnt uncommon for ur ship to suddenly turn in to an asteroid wilst in warp occasionally, the funniest one is when u undock and ur shuttle suddenly turns into a bs, dont be fooled by it though, ur still in a shuttle! havent seen this happen for a while though back when the devs did a bug fix to sort it out, looks like its coming back.
i wait for the confusion on local when some one believes they are in a hac and try to shoot a target only to find they are still in a tech 1 frig and get bbqpwned

OMG, I hope you shopped that image.... 
Can't anyone remember the old bug in Eve where we used to have over a year or something, random models being pasted over our ships (asteroids, other ships, stations, anything really)?
I REALLY hope that bug ain't coming back. At the time CCP couldn't figure out why it was happening and it took lots and lots and lots until it was finally fixed.
ugh, makes me shiver just to think that again...

after a patch some time ago there was a bug where while warping things would attach to your hull was actually quite funny.
somtimes a station graphic would warp along with you, or you would have an iteron or somthing sticking out your ass, most funny!
