am thinking of getting into this as a profession.but tend to be solo most of the time.
are there many types of sites that can be done solo.i can fly command ships to 4.

in my experience, most exploration sites except some of the plex-type ones are easy to solo. The exploration plex's is a complete waste of time, lots of risk and no reward.

yep.
I've never had any trouble doing 0.0 radar and magneto sites in a raven. Even with codebreaker/analyzer equipped.
Don't forget to join the ingame channel "Exploration" :)

All ArcSal (Magneto) and Hacking (Radar) sites are easily soloable in a Raven. Just to be sure, use a capacitor booster setup with a XL shield booser. There are two exceptionally rare Radar sites which are not soloable:
Pirate Hideout (Dirty-Hippy) Complex and Zero Cosmos Vale
Both of these sites need repper support and they are decidedly different to all other Radar sites since they will have a pop-up upon arrival. These sites also offer the highly sought after Drug skillbooks.
Otherwise:
Unknowns: stay the **** away.
Gravimetric: (lol) a few worthless roids to shoot at and no rats
Ladar: a harvestable gas cloud with no rats

Except the exploration deadspace complexes (dont do em at all) i do all of the exploration sites in my swiss-army-knife of a ship - my Myrmidon. Tank, Damage (T2 heavies), enough slots to fit all that nos, salvagers, tractors, analyzers, codebreakers - Myrmi got it all :)
And the Zero Cosmos Vale is doable solo no problem - just stay out of range of the sentries in pocket 1 - they hurt like hell - rest of the plex is a cakewalk

Also known as drug sites which are hard to find outside the drug constellations but can be easily found in drug constellations :)

All exploration sites are soloble except Unknowns, the drone sites in 0.0 zerk (translates LAG) you to death and the Pirate once have +15 BS that can alfa the shilds of a Armor tanked ships and 2-4 salvos later your armor and they all agro at the same time. The smaller Unknowns are comparable in value to belt spawns so why waste time scanning it down.
Even if you decide to do them and bring some friends along (logistic ship is a must) for the ride the bounties sum up to about 20-40mil (depending on which BSes it spawns) and there is almost no loot (empty wrecks FTL) and salvaging them is also no option as they drop less salvage than belt rats.
As for escalating paths  T2 lottery anyone. I hate chance based stuff.
To sum it up, stay away from Unknown sites you're better off ratting with your buddies, you'll make more cash that way.
