Hi. There has been a nerf to character limit in mails a while ago, and it is really starting to get annoying. I am trying to write a fairly brief mail trying to explain something, and I am cut off at 150 words. I would really like not having to separate mails into 2's or 4's and etc. I know CCP you may be trying to cut down on your database size or whatever by stopping people sending essays, but really all it does is make people send 3-4 mails that could be 1.
CCP would you consider stepping up the character limit a wee bit? --------------

/signed Please CCP? Im asking nice.. As a co-ceo, or xo depending on how you want to say it...i send alot of mail. Alot of it is policies on stuff. Or updating members to a current project or whatever. Some of these emails are rather lengthy as they hit multiple topics, which is needed some of the time. Please bump up the length?
Delivering the kick to the jaw of society to stop it from drooling on itself like the ignorant slop it is since 1984.

Certainly signed, I very often find that I have to split a rather "small" sized piece of text in 2 eve-mails.

Stating the obvious, they set the limit to decrease load on the database.
So I suggest staying away from the eve-mail system when it comes to lengthy mails and use your own discussion forums or ordinary e-mail to distribute corp information. I understand all of you, and that you would like to use the eve-mail system for everything regarding eve is logical, but do you really want to do so at the cost of decreased game performance?
Didn't think so.

I don't really care. CCP can barely keep their servers online it seems looking at the past week where everyone has lost connection 3 times in a row that whether 3 mails or 1 combined mail would make any difference. kthx --------------

Use smaller words. Four letters per word seems to be the magic number.
I don't see how forcing people to send multiple mails reduces databse load anyways. It end up requiring more requets to send the same amount of data. The only difference is that each request is reponded to with less data. Maybe that is better, I'm no database expert. In return can we get a countdown of how many more characters we can use like here on the forums? Put it in the chat channels too while you're at it.

I have forums. Unfortunately eve mail still has to be used for some things and is not very easy to deal with. --------------

Corp mails should be increased to 1000 words (alliance is 5000?)
Mails to individuals should be 1000 as well.
Also, petitions should be a bit longer or at least put into text boxes such as "where" "when" etc.

Although this is indeed an issue (and an very annoying one at that) this problem is allready in the known issues list so ccp is aware of it.

The amount of text players can send in an eve mail was inadvertently reduced from 4000 characters to 1600 characters.

Add to that that it is also very annoying not to be on a killmail because it is "truncated"... Not that I'm a killmail ***** but heck, sometimes the fight was one to remember.
